kundalini is not evil

Sat Naam,

There is a big difference between a spontaneous kundalini awakening and the

practice of Kundalini Yoga, which raises the kundalini energy slowly and

safely. Actually, this is what ALL yoga does; Yogi Bhajan teaches us a way

that works more directly and efficiently than most others.

An instant kundalini awakening IS dangerous and in some cases has led to

psychosis. This is what people fear when they hear about "kundalini" and it

is usually out of the context of a yoga practice. It can be caused by severe

stress or a physical injury, like falling directly on the tailbone! AND,

unfortunately, it can happen due to improper practices of yoga as well. This

would be something like practicing advanced pranayama without having been

taught the correct way, like Gopi Krishna's experience.

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is not only a safe practice, but it

is a practice that WORKS! We know from our experiences, and hey, we are sane

(enough!) people who are consciously trying to raise our kundalini energy

for the spiritual effects on our lives. This takes alot of practice, alot of

cleansing, alot of yoga, alot of work. By the time our bodies have been

through all this preparation, our minds are ready for the kundalini energy

to expand them. You are living proof of the power of becoming alive with

your own spiritual potential through this practice. And other people may be

scared of that, too ;)

Maha prem,

ranjit k.
