Guest guest
okay, i hate to keep asking the simple questions and having you guys do all of my research for me. I tried to find this--maybe not an exhaustive search but i am spending the day in a mini-retreat to kind of align myself. i created some 'space' to redirect {or focus--i'm not sure what the correct word is.} But this one thing i haven't been able to come across. Just what is a 40 day meditation? In 42 days, I am going to see my children and grandchildren and, man oh man, what a nice start a disciplined program would be... Guest guest
Brenda: A 40 day meditation or sadhana is where we really get into a practice, master it, perfect it, know it, understand it and be able to pass it on to others without speaking. If you remember, Jesus was in the desert for 40 days. Yogi Bhajan says we need 40 days to completely break a habit OR establish one--bad or good! You can take a meditation or kriya and do it for 40 days, preferably same time each day (but not absolutely required though it is good training and discipline for the mind and ego)and this will enable you to see yourself within the practice and vice versa. You will see and understand though maybe not enjoy all of the changes but they will be there. Pick one that challenges you and hammer away at it and yourself until you excell.
