Guest guest
First I want to say to to Sat Sangeet that you are a riot and I thoroughly enjoy reading all of your correspondence. That being said I want to ask how do I learn more about Japji? Is it one of the KY lessons from yoga tech website (which I love by the way). Any more info would be appreciated. Also I have another question for this wonderful group of experts... If I go to a KY class once a week with an awesome teacher and do different KY tapes during the week (maybe once or twice during the week) do you think I would be able to go to a Sadhana at a local Ashram and not be out of place. I live near a wonderful place in Millis MA and would love to go but I am slightly inhibited because I am afraid that everyone else is much more advanced than me. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I guess I'm concerned since I have been to the yoga classes and have not been there for the morning sadhana so I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks for any info. Guest guest
Dear Folks: Sat Nam, This list seems to have turned into all-Japji, all day (which is not a bad thing). I have a very nice translation (not Ek Ong Kar Kaur's which is very beautiful) which includes the Gurmukhi script and a transliteration (which allows you to approximate the correct sounds -- but you should learn how to read Gurmukhi "correctly" at some point). All three are side by side on a page, one page per pauri. Also, at the top of each page is a short summary of what repeating that particular pauri will do (25th brings prosperity, the 29th vaporizes enemies, etc). I would be happy to copy these for folks (we have a dozen for student use at our Yoga Center here in Kansas City) provided you: 1. Send me an 8 X 10 Manila envelope with your address and enough postage for 20 sheets of paper. 2. Include at least $3.00 U.S. for copying. 3. Have patience, since we are conducting a Teacher Training Course and my time is limited between that and my regular job! 4. Contact me offlist for my mail address. Guest guest
Dear Marco Regarding Japji, we have a very popular version available from www.yogatech.com - by Mata Mandir Singh. This is a double CD of Japji in both English and Gurmukhi, which comes complete with a booklet giving both the original text and the English transliteration. There are also sound clips on the site, which can be accessed with RealAudio player. cgi-bin/start.cgi/store/shop.html?showprod=cd09011 (If this URL extends to two lines in your reader, make sure you copy it in its entirety to your browser) Alternatively, there are various simple ways in which you can search the site for this and all our other products.
