Guest guest
Hellos to all. I'm new to the group, been watching from the shadows. I'm pretty exprienced in pranayama and other such practices. I have been working with the Kritin Kriya (ms?).. the Sa Ta Na Ma technique. I have noticed a very peculiar effect of this practice. After I am finished, and up doing my daily thing, I notice a cold sensation in my eyes/eyelids. It feels like there is a gentle breeze blowing right on my eyes. It is a refreshing feeling, very pleasant. Does anyone else experience this? Also, I was curious if fellow practitioners do pranayama whilst working the fingers. I am trained to do pranayama with most any other practice, and I find that the these two go very well together. Each sound is about one second, so I use the chanting in place of counting the breath (I do a 20s inhale, 20s exhale and 10s hold). After several breaths, the breathing becomes automatic and I can really focus on the finger/mental work. Of course, doing the practice in the way makes it impossible to chant the sounds audibly, thus I can only chant internally. I have not attempted the practice in the method described in the teachings (the 31 minute method), and I was wondering if there really is any reason to stick to these time increments. And is there any effect from doing the Normal voice/whisper/silent sequence? Things seem to be working in the method I am applying, with my pranayama. Good to be among brothers and sisters of the serpent! Guest guest
Hi Marzipan, Regarding "Cold Eyes". This just may be a release within your sympathetic nervous system. Eyes and sight regulate sympathetic. It could also be a clearing out or balancing of Pitta or Fire. When we are in "Doing" mode, we are in the sympathetic. When we relax and hearing, we are coming from the para-sympathetic. Para-sympathetic regulates the sympathetic. Gong is real good for the para-sympathetic. Sounds like you're doing okay from here. Regarding Normal voice/whisper/silent sequence, I wouldn't modify it. It is perfect in that it progresses from the conscious mind and the world of "Doing", to the whisper language of Lovers and intimacy, and then to the the deep listening, and receptive levels of the sub/unconcious mind. This is real and not just symbolic. This is one of the more integrating and self clearing Kriyas. Gotta run, Dharam Singh P.S.
