Yes, I do believe that mudras are my first love when it comes to yogic

techinique. So easy to learn, and they work well.

I wanted to send this out to all of those that suffer from migraine headaches.

Apart from mudra work, there are other things that I have heard to be effective

in helping this painful condition. I personally do not suffer from migraines,

so this is all simply re-stated info that I have been exposed to.

First, a fellow practitioner (buddhist) told me that as a young man he was

plagued by migraines. The only thing that could help him were powerful

barbituates that really just numbed the pain and came with the obvious unwanted

side effects. He was placed in a biofeedback training course geared toward

teaching him how to control the flow of blood in his body. Migrains are caused

by too much blood flow in the brain (fairly certain..I'm not a doctor, though).

The biofeedback training consisted of learning to cause blood flow to go to the

hands and feet, increasing the skin surface temp (as indicated by a digital

thermometer taped to the finger). Once one learns to control the blood flow,

the migraine loses it's hold. One can train one's self in this by buying an

indoor/outdoor thermometer, tape one to the finger and leave one in the room.

The game is to make the finger hotter than the room, simple enough. Through

practice, one can develop skills which can be used the next t

ime a migraine attacks.

I have also heard that deep bass tones can help with migraines. Not everyone

has a massive stereo to try this, but anyone that has been exposed to this kind

of sound will attest that it has an effect. Maybe it's a brain massage :) I've

also heard that the use of a prayer bowl (brass singing bowls) can help, and I

think it follows the same principle as the bass tones. The sound helps switch

the brain from para-sympathetic to sympathetic and relaxes all of that pressure

in the head (in theory).

Like I said, I'm no doctor. This is just restated info that I've been exposed

to. Hopefully it will help.

Good luck in all your efforts!

Marz
