Guest guest
Sat Nam! I just have a few questions that I am struggling with and was wondering if someone could help me. Here are the questions: 1 - Is it okay to practice many paths of energetic work at the same time? (By this, I mean practicing Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Power Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Qi Gong, Psi and other meditations.) I know this is a long list, but it is possible to practice them all (question 2). I was just wondering if it was wise to do so? 2 - I've created a small program for myself. I was just wondering if it seemed balanced and a good idea (or dangerous). Here it is: Morning - Ong Namo, Awakening exercises, Sun salutation, Kriya, Relaxation, Meditation, Qi Gong meditation(internal). (Basically my KY practice) Afternoon - Ong Namo, Power Yoga (Baptiste), Qi Gong(external), meditation, relaxation. (Basically a pick me up and body training.) Night - Ong Namo, Hatha Yoga (Sivananda or other), meditation, relaxation, sleep. 3 - Is there a danger to saying too many times Ong Namo and it is only reserved to KY practice? 4 - Can there be health problems by practising too much KY? (ex. heart problems, kidney problems, obesity, etc.?) Thank you very much for your patience! Sat Nam! Pier (Ottawa) Canada
Guest guest
Hello Pier, In your heart lies the answer you are seeking. Do what feels right for you. I do not see any harm in practicing other forms of yoga/meditation. KY has been my steady spiritual path for many years, but I like variety and yoga/meditation is no exception to this. No matter what other yoga/meditation I practice, I still chant too. Many paths, but one god. The question is this .. Do you feel one with all beings on the planet? Do you feel peaceful? Do you feel balanced? Do you feel at -one-ment with the Divine? Do you see your ego fading away and the true you shining? If you answered "yes" then your journey is absolute. The ego/mind seeks to confuse us. What ever path you choose, if you are committed, devoted and practice - it will take you there. Guest guest
Sat Nam Pier-Olivier, What are your intentions? Where do you see yourself being? Seems like you might be trying to take in and do an awful lot and that this may be a mode you do in other areas of your life, as well. (Vata-Pitta?) That being said, work within an awareness of this tendency. You might even imagine for yourself (aa an exercise) what might happen if you followed each impulse that came to you .............? Yeah, you might end up being completely of the map. Just something to reflect on. It's process. By the way, a good way to process the flood of thoughts after establishing your foundation (through navel work) is with Kirtan Kriya (http://kundaliniyoga.org/kyt15.html) Sometimes it's good to have a little bit of that Kapha dosha, that slow feeling mode, in our lives. Check out http://www.sahej.com/asana_for_your_type.html to get a sense of the Doshas and where you might be. We can do meditations and yogas for years and have created all kinds of energy but we may not have manifested the person that our Karma requires us to be. Let us know if this makes any sense. Guest guest
Hi Slabagen, The best advice I can offer online is to familiarize yourself with the systems of Akar Numerology (free reading at www.3HO.org) or Vedic Astrology. There is so much there that can be a help. Coupled with honest self-assessment nad refelection, one's practice will be very rich and you will have a presence. The goal is be non reactive on any level no matter what comes your way. This is possible because you've already greeted it, in a sense, through having encountered, processed and embraced it within yourself, on your own terms through Sadhana. Sangat or Sangha (community) is very important in this process. It's not always easy, for sure, but it keeps you moving along.
