Guest guest
The basic manual, Doga: Yoga for Dogs, lists all the positions dexterous dogs can learn, from the "mountain" to the "boat" to the "cobra." "Dogs have always been natural yogis," the doga book said. Bruce Van Horn, a finance graduate who practices yoga, wrote a separate book on the virtues of doga: Home Alone: Yoga and Other Tools to Help Pets Overcome Separation Anxiety. "Yoga can help dogs to calm their stress down," Van Horn, who calls himself a "pet guru," told Animal Planet. "They suffer from a too tense urban life. Guest guest
Sat Nam Animals do yoga anyway, with or without us. I frequently see dogs and cats doing Table Pose (aka Head Down Dog or Downward-Facing Dog in hatha yoga). They just don't hold it very long. And most dogs seem to have mastered open-mouth breath of fire. ;-) My cats seem to enjoy it when I meditate and often sit near or on me at meditation time. My housemate told me that on mornings when I would go to the ashram for group sadhana, one of the cats would go into my yoga room and sit in my meditation spot during that time. Reintroduction: I haven't posted to this list in ages, but still follow the messages and enjoy and learn from people's shared experiences. My name is Chris Brennan, spiritual name Guru Karta Kaur, and I live in Phoenix, Arizona.
