Guest guest
Dear Annalee, I first started living in 3ho Ashrams around 1972 for around 3 years, moving every 6 months, and mostly to be part of the 3ho substance abuse program Yogi Bhajan had developed in those early years. The first ashram I stayed at was in Washington DC, the program headed up by Larry Singh. It was very successful, providing specific diet, sets and community for every kind of drug addict and user. For example, people addicted to heroin were coming down, without the symptoms and suffering of withdrawals, within a matter of 3 months, methadone (a gov't drug treatment - much more addictive) took 6 months. There were treatments for cocaine, alcohol, speed and others. There were also specialized sets for people who had been taking psychedelics, such as psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, and others, where one or another chakra had opened and not properly closed, meaning they were experiencing a somewhat distorted view in the waking and dream state than the "assumed normal standard." The other ashrams that had these programs, which, by the way, the US gov't supervision of these programs and others around the country, placed the 3ho program as by far the most successful at the time, were Washington DC, Tucson, Pumona (Gurucharan Singh), but also Phoenix, which was a center for the accumulation of sets and kriyas at that time. I don't know where you would go to find out more about this very successful program, but you might try KRI or contacting people at www.3ho.org directly. Guest guest
I wanted to know what would be some good sets for someone who has taken alot of acid and mushrooms to close the gates. I have alot of social anxiety and depression. I´m currently doing Sat Kriya, Balancing the Nervous and Immune systems for 25mins (which works everytime and does away with the anxiety im almost dependent on this kriya to get me through the day), and finishing with sodarshan kriya meditation. I´ve noticed a big improvement. Is there an ashram in europe where i could go and get some advice? This is really the most important search for me. I´m wrestling with alot of emotional garbage and want to know how to get rid of it.- Chris Madrid
Guest guest
Hello Chris, I am a recovering addict myself, as well as a KY instrustor. I would strongly recommend two things - well three: 1) The first is to stay strong in your meditation, you will always grow closer and closer to that peaceful core place within you. Promise your self that you will stick with it no matter what. IT WORKS, and sometimes you will go through "dry" spells and want to give up - BUT STAY CONSISTENT - Please promise yourself, if you are serious about wanting to feel better! 2) Get Gururattans KY book: "Relax And Renew" And pick two sets out that "feel good" to you - Learn to listen to your intuition - you have it. Get to a KY class and find a couple of people you can trust to talk with about anything - It is important that you share! If there is no KY class, perhapse you can find a steps group or something similar - that is equally important. Also, this group is a great place to share about alot of the yogic experiences. 3) Get the book "The Spiritual Recovery Manual" by Patrick Gresham Williams. This is a "MUST" for any addict or server of addicts. Keep talking I wish you well Love, Bhagavati chris charles <ccharles79 wrote: I wanted to know what would be some good sets for someone who has taken alot of acid and mushrooms to close the gates. Guest guest
Sat Nam Chris, > Is there an ashram in europe where i could go and get some advice? In Madrid, check out www.yogakundalini.com - Devta Singh and Sarabjit Kaur teach there. They're fantastic yoga teachers, I'm sure they can assist you somehow. If you speak spanish there's a spanish list just like this one at: http://www.hispayoga.com/suscrip.htm OR hispayoga/ we have quite a lot of members from Madrid. Animo con todo, Gurushabd
