Guest guest
I was interested in using Malas for my japa(speaking my mantra practice-I think that's right) and I have very little money, so I was wondering if it is ok to make my own? I know it would not be blessed by a teacher that way, but I wouldn't know where to find a teacher anyway. Are there specific rules or colors or stones I should use if it is ok? Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. Thank you, Jean
Guest guest
Hey Jean! I think that... as long as you get 108 beads and a masterbead (or I don't remember how it's called), you'll be okay... Personally I've bought one from http://www.dharmashop.com/display.mgi?CAT=ml&T=Mala%20Beads (Dharma Shop) (ITEM ml012 (yak bone)). Most malas are made of wood beads, very simply, just look at the best seller! Max
