Guest guest
Is there any practice which will help cure 'geographical' tongue, i.e. a tongue badly coated over most of its area, with borders like a map? And does anyone know what causes it? Is it a symptom of rheumatism? Good wishes to all, David.

Guest guest
I am not a doctor, but I know a little about the subject. If you have Geographical Tongue, I don't think know of a treatment for that in itself. I don't think it is something to worry about, it is just something that happens. I would suggest, not as a medical person, but someone who has spent time on the same planet as you, to try brushing your teeth and tongue with Baking Soda and chew on cloves and fresh mint leaves if you can find them. You may want to see a doctor as this could be some other problem, like oral thrush, a doctor will suggest that you use an oral anti-fungal mouthwash or lozenges. The good news is it tends to clear this up quickly treated by an MD. Backpackers often come down with oral thrush, again, folklore says that Baking Soda and chewing on cloves may help. A deficiency in your diet of iron, folate, vitamins B6 and B12 or not having enough C in your diet may also cause these sort of systems. A good doctor test and treat through diet or with supplementation from your health food store. I am not a medical person, but I have learned a few things here and there. One thing I have learned is it is good to find a good local herbalist and an alternative medicine doctor before you need them. Guest guest
For me it is only caused by "drinking tea". When I came back from India, my tongue cleared up. But when I drank Tea again it came back. Coffee doesn't affect my tongue but tea does.
