Guest guest
Sat Nam Yoga Friends, My boss had surgery 2 days ago for Crohn's disease - a portion of his large intestines was removed. Since about 5 pm yesterday he started to have hiccups and they have not stopped. This is definitely not good for the healing of his wound and he is not able to rest. Thanks you for any suggestions. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Water sounds good. What I have found, if I stare at the person, they look back into my eyes and I ask them to hiccup for me, they can't do it and it stops. Guest guest
- Kathleen Cureton Friday, July 02, 2004 7:16 PM Kundaliniyogagroups hiccups Sat Nam! My father also had Crohn's disease. I can understand some of the frustration. Regarding the hiccups, depending on the physician, I learned a trick: 1. take a deep breath and make certain that the breath goes down into the stomach area. 2. Swallow as many times as possible while holding the breath (maybe five or six times?). 3. Continue a few times if the first attempt does work (always works first time for me). 4. Just a theory, but could be the result of much needed oxygen for the healing process. Hope this helps! Much prayers- Kathleen.
Guest guest
Sat Naam The Kundalini cure for hiccups is "kechari mudra" with the tongue. Press the tip of the tongue straight up into the middle of the palate making the tongue as strong and stiff as possible. I have witnessed that this works pretty well. Kechari mudra also stimulates the crown chakra.
