Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the help with the wording for this meditation to bring white light into your aura! last question so I can put this baby to bed My notes said eyes 1/10th open (I posted that in the instructions and nobody said that was wrong). I just wanted to confirm that. I just tried it, got a little dizzy after turning the head 4 times and bringing it back to centre. Should the eyes be 1/10th open or closed? thank you. It is a lovely meditation > >> Hi. Below is a mantra/meditation to bring white light into your aura. I >wrote

Guest guest
Sat Naam, The drishti is the point of focus for the eyes; where to fix the gaze in a meditation or posture. The directions "eyes 1/10th open" refers to the position of the eyelids, but not really the eyeballs. Maybe your eyeballs are shaking and moving and this can cause dizziness for some. Fixing the gaze is a very important element of yoga -- both the body and mind follow the eyes. Fixing the gaze balances the body and stills the mind. So just keep practicing and pay attention to the eyeballs. Wherever they feel comfortable when your lids are slit 1/10th -- maybe it's straight ahead at the back of the eyelids or maybe it's gazing down through the opening (or maybe it's specified?) -- concentrate on keeping them steadily fixed there. Also work on softening the focus of the eyes, relaxing them into stillness instead of making them look and see. This will make more sense with more practice. There are many other things that could cause dizziness when doing yoga too. Like if the breath is too shallow or uneven. Strong deep breathing expels any toxins that are released doing yoga. Use the breath. Regulate it gently so the the inhalation matches the exhalation in strength, depth, length, and comfort. And the list goes on... but I can't. Feel free to email me off list if you feel the need!
