It is a great habit in what it gives us. An upper, a five minute break, something to do with our hands and lips and lungs and because spirits play in the smoke it gives us company (not the best of spirits). What I did was get and use a mala using my fingers to turn the beads chanting sat nam with each bead. five minutes of breath of fire (purifies the blood) gave me an upper and a break (people leave you alone) and i burned incense (nag champa) It has been thirty four years now so far so good!
