Sat Nam Siri Ram Kaur!

Colds as viewed from an Ayuyrvedic perspective are seen as an accumulation of

Kapha. Do you know your Dosha type? Since we are not in the Kapha season here

in the USA (where are you located?) then the imbalance may be from too much

sleep, inactivity, or eating a kapha producing diet (dairy, oils, sweets,

mucus-producing foods) Emphasize foods that are salty, sweet, and sour, or

sprinkle

winter churna on your food. Ginger, fresh and grated, is wonderful to add to

as many foods as you can; ginger tea (slice fresh ginger into a cup and add

hot water), or Yogi Tea may be helpful. Sitopaladi (lung rejuvenator), Triphala

(high vitamin C content) and pippali (long pepper) would be good additions to

your supplements during this time. Drinking lots of water thins out the mucus.

Stimulate the marma points Ajna and Pleeha with a drop of warm sesame oil on

the finger; press lightly. Pleeha can be found on the edge of each rib cage

about 4 digits below the sternum.

If you need any help with any of this please e-mail me off list and I will be

happy to help anyway I am able. gururavikaur,

Blessings,

Guru Ravi Kaur
