Guest guest
Somewhere I´ve read that deodorants are not good for the body cause may produce some alterations. What other natural options exist to use instead of chemical deodorants. Sat Nam Juan.
Guest guest
I've got a problem with antiperspirants. Sweating is a natural process and serves a purpose, antiperspirants stop this. Does anyone know more about the effects? Kundaliniyoga, "ahi va eso" <ahivaeso1@h...> wrote: > Somewhere I´ve read that deodorants are not good for the body cause may > produce some alterations. Guest guest
Sat Nam, The deodorants that prevent perspiration and chemicals are harmful. Alum is a good natural substitute and there are other deodorants made from natural ingredients. If there is a list of chemicals for contents that is a warning sign. Guest guest
Namaste, hi there, i am new to the list but familiar with kundalini & stuff. Just wanted to say about the deodorant, that yes, there are lots of heavy metals contained within modern deodorants and that they clog the glands of the armpits thus trapping the toxins contained within the deodorant into the body, but also trapping the toxins that the body is trying to release by sweating. Natural alternatives are; if you dont sweat too much, you can use some essential oils(mixed with something like grapeseed oil, cause some essential oils are too strong for the skin)and use that as a body odor masking factor. a deodorant like thing is a 'thai' stone. its basically a big block of salt. that really helps to remove odors and reduce perspiration. Check out your local health food store. Ask someone in the health/beauty section for more information. Good Luck! Guest guest
Sat Nam Juan, You can go to a healthfood store where they offer an array of "all natural" deodorants... from my own experience I have found that not all of them work as sufficiently as I'd like... the one I have used for years with much success is called a deodorant stone, a couple of years ago they have also startrd offering the deodorant stone in a liquid form & I like it alot ... if for some reason it is not offered in your area let me know & I'll be happy to look up the distributer where you can contact them directly... with many blessings, Jiwan Shakti Kaur Tampa, Florida --- ahi va eso <ahivaeso1 wrote: > Somewhere I´ve read that deodorants are not good for > the body cause may > produce some alterations. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Juan. Your question may be more relevant than it may seem at first; what are the alternatives for using chemical de-odorants; in other words: how do you keep from stinking without doing harm to your body? Several tests show that aboput 95 percent of the substances in chemical perfumed products are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. They include benzene derivatives, aldehydes and many other known toxics and sensitizers - capable of causing cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. (Neurotoxins: At Home and the Workplace, Report by the Committee on Science & Technology, U.S. House of Representatives, Sept. 16, 1986. (Report 99-827)) Yogi Bhajan has, in different places, called the armpits the "exhaust pipes of the brain"; something you do not want to block with a thick layer of chemical stuff. There are several options; firstly, if you take your Ishnaan (cold water therapy) each morning, and (after washing yourself) you massage your body with almond oil, you could add a drop or two of your favorite oil; this is usually sufficient to keep you smelling nice & sweet throughout the day. Antoher option is simply to use your favorite search-engine and type in "natural deodorants"; there are countless companies offereing safe alternatives to potentially poisonous substances. I hope not to smell you later, In the Love that is the Light of Life, Sat Deva Singh, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Guest guest
Sat Nam, I personally don't recommend store bought baby powder either....most baby powders that you purchase have "talc" which studies have shown also can cause cancer... if you like powder & it's dry consistancy you could consider making your own with equal amounts cornstarch, baking soda, french white clay powder (or fullers earth) & add a few drops of essential oils... or purchase powder from a health food store... bless you, Jiwan Shakti Tampa, Florida Kindness has no enemy. Guest guest
I have the same problem and I am not sure what causes it. A few years back I switched to non-aluminum deodorant and it made no difference, those yellow stains still appear. I love wearing white in the summer and in the hot blazing sunlight, I am convinced no one sees it or cares. On the internet I came across suggestions of using white vinegar as a pre wash treatment rinse or even moistened backing soda as a stain treatment. Is this yellow stuff some sort of detoxification process ? Is it good or bad to have this occurrence ? Any information would be appreciated . I really enjoy wearing white , but all my good whites are getting ruined . Peace be with you all , Sadhana SevaGet more from the Web. Guest guest
Sat nam, I know this isn't yoga advise, but Oxy Clean takes out those stains.(and most other stains) Soak your garments overnight or longer if needed. I put one full scoop of the powder in a bucket of water. It even works on silk. I love this product. I don't dread stains anymore. Now that is spiritual progress to release another level of fear. :+) Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Thank you both for the useful information . I never thought of using OXy clean , I have used the vinegar and baking soda before and it did not work for me . I have been following the messages and I think I am going to use the cornstarch powder (if that is OK to use alone) . I really enjoy wearing white in the summer too , I find it to be very soothing color . In order to preserve my white shirts and dresses I had to resort to wearing men's tee shirts which I redesigned, no sleeves . Peace Love and Light GSSK PHILA, PA ******************************************************************* Get more from the Web. Guest guest
Sat Nam Suzanne, You could try cornstarch on its own, however I have found that it really is much more effective if you use the blend of cornstarch, french white clay powder (or fuller's earth) & baking soda "together"....mix it together in equal amounts & use either a powder puff or a shaker bottle. Just thought you may want to know...smile with many blessings, Jiwan Shakti Tampa, FL --- Suzanne Nocella <BLUEGIRL7 wrote: > Sat Nam, > > Thank you both for the useful information . Guest guest
Regarding deodorant - Just thought I'ld mention that zinc will prevent one having a perspiration odor. It may take as little as a few days of supplementation. A perspiration odor, I understand, indicates a zinc deficiency. Hugs, Ruth
