Sat Nam Elizabeth!

Yes, it does sound like stirrings of Shakti. My experience with Gurmukh, as

I'm sure you know, is that she is always very available, by phone or e-mail. I

think it would be a wonderful idea to contact her and follow her advice. Some

things that have helped me is... staying in contact with others, even if they

don't really understand what is going on with you...don't isolate yourself!

Whatever your line of work is presently stay with it no matter how strange it

may "feel" to you. If you are teaching yoga it is still a challenge because the

experience that "you" are not in control is very real right now...but keep

teaching, keep showing up to do as many phsical things as you can. Eat very

consciously and keep a regular schedule with everything you do. It is very easy

to

leave in the state you are in, as you've already experienced in listening to

the gong. Stay grounded in any way you can, come back into your body. Try to

avoid analyzing what is going on with you and work on acceptance and grace. You

may contact me privately if you would like. gururavikaur

Dear Kellie,

If you> would please a reply on the tongue to the roof of my > mouth.

The tongue to the roof of the mouth connects the 5th and 6th chakras so the

energy circuit is complete and the energy can flow up.

In general, don't try to explain anything. The mind takes away the

experience and doesn't have the answers. Just be with the energy and follow

this discussion.

Dear Elizabeth, Kellie and Everyone,

I was wondering what exactly you mean by "bring the energy back down now."

* When the Kundalini first rises, it goes up the spine (obviously). The

second stage is that the energy comes back down and we have to face all our

issues, clear all the chakras, deal with our human karma, etc. When we have

done all this (could take a while :+), then the Kundalini rises again up the

cleared channel. It is said that then we are enlightened.

If we stay in the upper chakras and in the bliss out states, the energy does

not come back down like it should. We become very spacey and dysfunctional.

I often felt that perhaps I (or, kundalini) was "stuck" somewhere

between manipura and anahata...often very nauseous with burning type

indigestion feelings in the area and heart palpitations or very slow

heartbeat...many frightening things happened during this time. It

was very scary.

* And voila! There is one of the issues, blocks that you have to deal

with -- in the solar plexus. Interesting because the solar plexus can only

be accessed through feeling. (I have written about the solar plexus in my

book "Your Life Is In Your Chakras") I consider it another chakra. But

whatever we want to call it, it is an area that keeps the heart from fully

opening. It contains a lot of issues. We are generally afraid to face

these deep issues.

Is that like, bring it back down the sushumna to muladhara or svadhisthana?

* yes. Back down through all of the chakras.

Or just to try to neutralize the energy a bit? Any suggestions on sets or

meditations how to do it? (if you give me the name I can probably find it)

* The meditations and sets would be the ones that work the lower chakras,

navel sets ( in Transitions), Set for the Instinctual Self (in Sexuality and

Spirituality) But just as important as doing sets that deal with the lower

chakras, is HOW you do the sets.

On the bigger scheme of things the Kundalini rises, descends and rises. But

this process is facilitated by taking time between each exercise to

integrate the energy, let the body adjust and come back to stable, i.e. the

body will relax and the breath will normalize. When we feel the sensations

in our body, this is part of letting the energy descend and integrate. If

we just do the exercise, pull the locks and raise the energy and move on,

the integration and the descent are lost.

The deep relax at the end of the set is part of the integration. But I

personally think that the relaxing and letting go between exercises is

equally as important. In my classes we do the exercises less time and spend

almost the same amount of time integrating the energy.

Also, when you say feel every sensation in my body...as in, just go with the

flow?

* Going with the flow of energy in your body is it. And feeling the energy,

being very present to it so you are with the energy in your body.

Because I felt MORE than I had FELT before...every subtle sensation was

almost too much that I wanted to NOT feel as much...perhaps it was my

resistance that was causing so much

discomfort.

* We become very sensitive. Then we have to be with our sensations in our

body in a very loving and accepting way to ground the energy. Not wanting

to feel as much is because the sensations are bringing up pain and

resistance, issues that need to be healed.. Resistances does cause

discomfort and blocks the flow of energy. We have to allow one resistance

at a time and be with it in a very non-judgmental way.
