Guest guest
Sat Nam, Do any of the experienced group members have any feedback to offer Bliss on her query (below)? My experiences are very similar. Blessings, Mon Sat Nam, Thank you for getting back and for all the excellent advice you provide. During this meditation, there are no emotions when the tears begin to fall, only a burning sensation and the tears. It's as if you are looking directly into the sun, but without needing to squint, or turn away. What may seem odd, is that the burning sensation doesn't cause me to stop meditating. I don't understand why this happens the way it does. Is this the sub-conscience clearing itself out? This experience also occurs during Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, where my body sporatically, during sleep, becomes very hot. I needed to stop practicing Sodarshan Kriya because of this. Does anyone have any suggestions, insight or experience of this sort? Peace Love & Light to All, Bliss, NYC
Guest guest
Sat Nam All! My name is Verette originally from Toronto, Canada - came to London, England four years ago to care for my mother who suffered a stroke. She died this past April 26. Without going into details I must say it has not been an easy transition for me because I had to simply drop everything in Toronto and come here to care for my mother. I must hastily add here that I would have it no other way. It has been an awesome experience being with my mother - talking with her during the process of her crossing over. I would never have missed it for the world. I happen to believe that that is one of the most important times in our lives (my father died in my arms - another amazing experience). However now that my work here is done, I am looking forward to moving back to Canada - hopefully before the end of this year. Sorry I didn't mean to be long-winded about this. The purpose of my note to the group is to share my experience about with RA MA DA SA SA SAY HUNG. First of all I must say how very much I have enjoyed reading the notes and especially the response and encouragement from Gururattan. She is simply wonderful. I have been practicing KY on and off for a few years now but I have been much more diligent since I've been in London. What a tremendous blessing to have this Mantra - RA MA DA SA SA SAY HUNG - in our lives. Before I go any furthe I must say that for over 30 years I have had a lower back problem - unable to do certain asanas. I could only watch other in Yoga class and be envious. Finally I decided to make the most of this Mantra. For the first time in 30 years I am able to lie flat on the floor, do leg raises and certain other poses without sometimes crying out in pain, literally. This one day I did just over 31 minutes of chanting this mantra back in early March of this year. During chanting I began to notice that I started feeling cold and my body tingling and shaking (room was warm) but by the time I had finished I was so very weak and listless my whole body was like a bowl of jello and I became very emotional. I was just about able to pull the blanket over me. I fell asleep and for the next two days I experienced the most tranquil state I can ever recall. For those two days I was not able to eat solid food. My body just would not accept any food - just water! However, since I was not fasting I thought it sensible to have something on the morning of the third day. That's when I began to experience the tremendous changes in my body - reduction of pain in lower back. Healing had began and continues - getting better every day. I am now able to do the Cobra! Sorry for being so long-winded. It is so very important for us to share so that others can be encouraged. Thank you for for your time. Again, my most heartfelt gratitude to Yogi Bhajan, Gururattan Kaur Khalsa and to Gurunam whose version of the Mantra I have been working with. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Mon and Bliss, > During this meditation, RA is the Sun. You are calling upon the Sun when you chant RA. there are no emotions when the tears begin to fall, only a burning sensation and the tears. * Tears for me mean that I am tuning into a truth. It's as if you are looking directly into the sun, but without needing to squint, or turn away. * This is the fire element and yes it is also the Sun energy. When this happens tune into the Sun by blessing and thanking the Sun for all the warmth and the purification. In the Sun energy nothing bit pure purity can endure. Then ask the Sun to bless you with purity of heart. And then just feel it. Feel it in your heart. The Sun will purify your heart. This is a good opportunity to develop a relationship with the Sun. The relationship will be uniquely yours. The relationship is cultivated by blessing and asking for blessings. Keep the two way communication going. And it is through the heart that this communication builds. Simply be with the Sun in your heart and it will teach you. > What may seem odd, is that the burning sensation doesn't cause me to stop meditating. * This is an indication that it is pure fire energy. I don't understand why this happens the way it does. Is this the sub-conscience clearing itself out? * That is part of it. This experience also occurs during Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, where my body sporatically, during sleep, becomes very hot. I needed to stop practicing Sodarshan Kriya because of this. * Use the fire in the navel to bring it to the heart and open the heart. This might reduce some of the heat, which needs to be distributed up to the heart. Does anyone have any suggestions, insight or experience of this sort? * I had an experience with this energy, but it got to hot for me to sustain. * To cool down do sitali breath. Inhale through the curled tongue and exhale through the mouth, long and deep. Now you sweet, persistant ladies, I hope I have helped you a bit. :+) Sat nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Dear Verette, Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration healing story. It is important for everyone to know what we have to go through to get the breakthroughs. Sometimes we stop because we think something is the matter, when in fact we are in the midst of cleansing that will make healing possible. I listen to the Gurunam version of RA MA ... every night as I go to sleep. (it is available on www.yogatech.com ) It is so soothing. >I happen to believe that that is one of the most important times in our lives (my father died in my arms - another amazing experience). * This is very touching and inspirational. Thanks for sharing this love story. Sat nam, Gururattan Kaur PS You are most welcome!!

Guest guest
Sat Nam Gururattan, Thank you so much for this! Can you go into a little detail about "tuning into a truth"? Is this a truth buried within the subconscience, as nothing consciously surfaces when practicing. During this meditation, my mind has become very focused on the mantra when saying it aloud, and I visualise the words when silent, thus making it difficult to visualise a white or green light surrounding me. When "giving thanks to sun", should this be done during, or after the meditation? Thank you again, for all your priceless knowledge Gururattan, for I, like many others out there, am so grateful to you, and the other knowledgeable teachers and students in this group. My abundant thanks also goes to all my wonderful teachers, and to our Beloved Yogi Bhajan, who brought us the wonderous Jewel of Light called Kundalini Yoga. I am steeped in gratitude and pray for his recovery. You are all Divine Messengers of God. Blessings, Peace, Love & Light, Sat Nam, Bliss
Guest guest
Dear Bliss, > Thank you so much for this! You are most welcome. > Can you go into a little detail about "tuning into a truth"? * This comes through awareness. Practice being aware, simply listening, seeing, feeling and perceiving what IS. This can be a simple as feeling the air on your skin and the movement of the breath in your body. Is this a truth buried within the subconscience, as nothing consciously surfaces when practicing. * It could be buried in the subconscious or perhaps the subconscious is covering it up is another way to look at it. We have to get out of the way to tune into the various levels of truth. During this meditation, my mind has become very focused on the mantra when saying it aloud, and I visualise the words when silent, * This is a useful technique for some to help focus the mind. thus making it difficult to visualise a white or green light surrounding me. * If visualizing is making up some idea it is only marginally useful. If you are aware eventually you will feel the nature of the energy that surrounds you. * You are using your mind to DO something. This is ok and is a stage of meditation. Next you have to cultivate awareness. * Frankly, I am not into visualization. It makes my mind tired. I prefer to relax my mind and just be present. > > When "giving thanks to sun", should this be done during, or after the meditation? * Before and after. During is when you focus the mind on the sound of the mantra, the breath and the feelings in your body. During you cultivate focus, concentration and awareness. We start out with mantras, sounds, breath and feeling so we have a way to focus the mind. Over time you can focus on what IS. Awareness comes second. You evolve into a state of awareness. Keep up your practice and enjoy the exploration and the evolution of consciousness. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
