Guest guest
Sat Nam Roopinder Kaur, Ayurvedically, the desire for warm drinks is viewed as a Vata imbalance. I notice you are in Canada. Cold climates aggravate Vata so perhaps your need for warmth can be met by bringing Vata back into balance. We are approaching the Vata season so you may be feeling this. The key word for Vata is routine! Sleep before 10 o'clock, rise to a warm sesame oil massage (abhyanga), eat in a quiet, non-rushed manner, at the same time everyday. Eat warm nourishing foods. Kicheri, soups, lightly cooked fruits sprinkled with cinnamon, and Vata Churna are all great ways to pacify Vata. There are many Vata reducing recipes on www.skyoftheheartyoga.com. You may also find out your Dosha type there if you don't know, balancing tips, and a full line of Ayurvedic products to bring your Dosha type back in balance. Yogi Tea, using more of the specific spices for Vata, is also helpful and yummy! Increase the cinnamon and add saffron. Energetic water sipped at 1/2 hour intervals is detoxifying and also calms Vata nervous energy. If you would like more specific help you may feel free to contact me on the web site. I will be happy to be of assistance. Blessings of warmth and health! Guru Ravi Kaur-Midland, Texas PS-if you can find a massage therapist that works with hot stones and sesame oil, that would be heavenly for you! You will probably soak every bit of the heat out of them I'm sorry we are so far apart!
Guest guest
Dear Roopinder Kaur, > Lately, I have been having the need to drink warm tea very often. I feel calm and composed after having the warm sips. How can I generate the warmth inside me and stop seeking it in the form of tea? It is fine to want to generate this warmth inside and Guru Ravi Kaur has given you excellent professional advise. However there is an an underlying thought here that it is not ok to nurture yourself with warm tea. After reading how calm and composed you feel with warm tea, I am inspired to be more appreciative of how I feel nurtured with a warm tea. *Start out by giving yourself permission to love how you feel and cultivate that cozy feeling. Are there any specific excercises I could do? * Any navel exercises, areobic exercises and breath of fire will help. I must mention that recently I have been feeling very lonely. I feel all alone in the crowd. * This is the heart. Do any heart opening meditations and exercises, like side twists. Then feel the warmth in your heart and love that feeling. * Oh yes, perhaps you might like to meditate on the Sun. Mon and Bliss might be willing to share experiences. Perhaps they will even hold you in their hearts when they feel that burning feeling. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur :+)
