Guest guest
God respects us when we work, but he loves us when we sing. -- old Islamic saying (This is from Badeish Lange of Aloha, Oregon. She is an Edgar Cayce person) THE HEALING HARMONICS OF SOUND VIBRATIONS At the heart of many spiritual traditions there are the teachings of the ability to use sound, voice and music to create changes in oneself or in others. We must remember that a tradition is not a religion. It is a tool by which we can unfold the creative potential that lies within. Sacred Sound---whether as prayer, music, song, incantation or chants is a vital force which permeates every aspect of creation. Sound has always been considered a direct link between humanity and The Divine. At some point, all of the ancient mystery schools taught their students the use of sound as a creative and healing force. By the time Egypt built the pyramids and sphinxes, it had organized choruses of 12,000 voices and orchestras of 600 pieces. Many believe it was through their use of directed and controlled sound that much of the heaviest labor was accomplished on the pyramids. Resonance is the most important principle of sound in any form. The Science of Physics teaches that life is composed of atoms, which contain protons and electrons. These are electrically and magnetically charged particles of energy (The Field). Audible sound vibrations enter the ear causing the eardrum to vibrate. The ear is the first sense to develop in the womb. Vibrations that are not recognizably physical can still affect us and can be sensed and felt if the intuitive and physical perceptions are heightened. We have a capability of resonating or responding to all sound vibrations---positive or negative. We need to be alert to the sounds that strengthen or weaken our bodies! Sympathetic Vibrations (or Resonance) occurs when two or more bodies have similar or identical vibrational frequencies, making them compatible. There is an "innate sympathy". Sounds can correct imbalance conditions in the body and force various organs and systems back within their normal parameters---restoring homeostasis. The sacred sound principle includes rhythm, melody and harmony. As one tone is placed along side of other tones, melody is formed. Who has not seen a mother singing or humming softly to a crying child. By singing to the child, the mother links her energies with that of her child to enhance a bonding experience. Science has proven music "changes brain waves". Even when we use our imagination to hear the sounds, the brain waves react! We understand that sound changes our heart beat, breathing and Voluntary Response Systems. Isn't it interesting that music is known to lift the Spirit and affect the "Electro-Magnetic Fields" of the body. Mostly, it's the Emotional Body Matrix reacting to the feeling of the sound/music. We associate and create memory of sounds that stay with us for a lifetime. I believe music is recorded in the cells of our DNA and music from a past life is a DNA memory. Some say hearing the "Blues" is like a tonic for the Soul. Soul Music has had a strong popularity through the years because it's a record of the Past and Present conditions in our culture. Primitive Man sang before there was a language. Even if you are "deaf" you can sing your own song that feels joyful to the emotional body. Gospel Music looks for its power in the music and melodies. Gospel Music could be understood as a "Unified Field" of feeling an Oneness with The Field/God Force. Drumming is a primal full body healing. Rhythm is extremely important because this "Rhythmic Sense" affects the entire body. The Field/God Force is active on the mind, body and spirit. It is well known that Percussion Instruments create wellness. White Blood Cells are produced and increased to kill cancer through the experience of the body feeling Percussion Sounds. Music Therapy has become an affective medical treatment. When we open our Senses to feel through our hands, feet, and total body, our vital signs change to the positive. Scientist say our Sense of taste and smell are not activated by sound. Personally, I feel this is very possible. Simple "Trance Based Rhythms" like Indian Chants, and the band called "Grateful Dead" would take you on what is known as a "Group Transfer". Music works its way into your body for a trance-based experience! The trance like state is a "Theta Wave" frequency. Consciousness is activated into a non-thinking transport grove.
