Guest guest
Sat Nam Suky and Joy! There are other "ways" certainly to awaken Kundalini. 1.Devotion is one way, 2.as we age there are windows of "opportunity" that open in which you are closer to experiencing God (how ever you interpret God), 3.staying in the present moment, 4.your Karma to awaken in this lifetime! There are many stories of Kundalini awakening without using Yoga...quite an earthshaking surprise I would think! The force involved with Kundalini awakening is not to be taken lightly, not to be played with. As Yogi Bhajan says...would you stick your finger into an electrical outlet? this is the life force of an atom! My thought is why would you want to awaken Kundalini without Yoga? Yoga naturally builds our physical and astral bodies to handle this awakening. It is very good fortune to awaken with the practice of Yoga... what are your ideas on this? we can certainly pass through this life without having awakenings, with closed chakras...but when we are in touch with our great desire for the Divine we are lead by this incredible LOVE to awakenings through whatever practice we choose. Be careful not to use the egoic mind to analyze all the grace out of any stirrings or arousals...remembering also that when this arousal happens you will need no words to describe it, you won't discuss or analyze "you" will sit in the deep abiding of the self, pulsating with all of life. Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a very "safe" way to Get There! It has all the protection built in...you keep up and the rest will come. It is easy, in the sense that it has ALL been given to you...yuo have been given the map!...it is a great gift and all you do is accept it and what you are looking for will be given to you! If your egoic mind is still striving for something to wrap around there are many articles you can read on KY awakenings, David Frawley outlines signs for each Chakra awakened, and Yogi Bhajan describes exactly what happens as apana and prana perfectly mix, overturn the cup of nectar of the thousand petal lotus to pierce the crown chakra. But these are just words until you have the experience. All Blessings of Shakti! Guru Ravi Kaur
Guest guest
Hi, I have been reading this threat with great interest. I have not trained KY yet as I have been active in other disciplines, less body oriented. Let me tell you a bit more about it and ask for your kind advice. In years before, while still a student and beginner in my professional envolvement, I have lived in a Buddhist community, close to Masters who practiced and thought ethics and emanated an energy that was sometimes so strong that I could feel a great, pleasant heat rushing up my spine - till at most the level of the heart. I am strongly convinced that this was a sign of Kundalini being activated. Also, during those years I familiarized myself with alternative healing methods and used to practice hands-on-healing quite often, which I enjoyed greatly. Now, for the past 3 years, I changed my life style drastically. It was all more a question of convenience and adapting to society. Thus I moved to a city, where I progressed in different professional fields, being successful in particular in the field of journalism and event management. I met a writer who became my mentor and helped me make the best of my abilities. His sudden death caused an emotional loss within me that I have not yet come over. That´s been a year ago. As a consequence of the difficulties related to changing again my place of living, my energyfield got all clogged over and, even though I would know to deal with this when I am in good strength, then I couldn´t. Also, I have been through incredible pains, crying so hard, for that one person. Slowly I regained energy and I am now able again to clear my energyfields and to also to hold introspection more frequently. However, I never again felt the fire of Kundalini rush up the spine and it seems as if I am "stuck" or won´t progress unless I´d engage in some though discipline - maybe KY? Fact is that much of the personal power and creativity that used to be mine have vanished and it´s tremendously hard for me to activate any energy to get something else done except my job where at least I am doing well. As a matter of fact, I am only functional in my job right now, where I invest most of my time and energy available. Therefore I did not manage to keep in contact with friends and find new ones, which on the other hand makes me feel unhappy. It is a vicious circle of lack of energy that I don´t find the exit for. And it all sums up to the lower chakras being rather weak which is an obstacle to raising frequencies and getting more energy into the higher chakras. Meanwhile a doctor who uses kineology, told me that my systems has been struck by a deep shock and it´s like I am functioning only on low battery, because the disk drive is turning on and on about the shock situation, using up my energy. I don´t remember a particular shock situation other than what I shortly described and just wonder if any of you has gone through something similar and if you could suggest me something to find a way towards more strength. Guest guest
Dear Betty, Thank you for your sincere story. You have diagnosed your situation well. Start doing spinal flexes everyday and nabhi kriya. You have to do some kind of lower chakra/spinal exercises to change your energy so you can move on. Do something simple. 15 minutes day. The changes will begin and you can move on from there. Take the first step. Sat nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Dear Gururattan Kaur, I treasure your advice. 15 min sounds realistic for the energy situation that I am in right now. It is just the amount of time that I will be able dedicate, pulling together every bit of will and physical energy. Funnily, in all these years I´d been naturally expecting that the energy frequency would heigthen and I´d come to the point to see auras easily as well as get more and more aware of the reality within and around me. However, due to the lower chakras leaking energy, every base for such progress is gone. I´ll try with KY and hope to give you good news in a near future. Many thanks as well to Vanessa for her suggestion to check out about thought field therapy in order to overcome unresolved grief. Guest guest
I enjoy reading the kundalini group emails I receive everyday, but this is my first time as a contributor! I have recently starting teacher training and I am in the process of doing the basic Spinal Energy Series every evening along with a 31 minute mediation called the adi mantra for individual meditation which is to connect us to the golden chain. While I am doing the meditation, my body is vibrating like a jackhammer. I imagaine this is the kundalini arising, but can someone tell me what is actually occuring while the body is vibrating like this? I am wondering if I am blocked somewhere and it is not going up and down smoothly like it is suppose to?? I am trusting that what is going on in my body is ok, but a part of me wants to make sure I am not causing any harm to it! Thanks for any insight you can offer. Guest guest
Dear Betty, Your letter was so interesting. One thing that may help you is to take the Bach flower essence Star Of Bethlehem. It is for healing grief, shock, and trauma. I have found it very effective.Kundalini Yoga brings your emotions to the surface, so you may find you are crying more. It's painful at the time, but much better than holding the emotions inside and ignoring them. I think as you continue to release you will gain more strength and power. Gentle sets and lots of chanting should help. The Adi Shakti mantra has been very healing for me. I love the version by Gurudass Singh and Kaur. I'm also a great proponent of naps. I find them to be very mystical and they bring relief.(Especially if you pray for healing before you drop off into sleep!) Exercising vigorously, spending time in nature, and expressing yourself as an artist may help, too. Sat Pal Kaur
