I just cannot understand the logic between getting the anger up and out is any better, or different than keeping it locked in. Both seem to have negative affects when it comes to one's internal health Sat Nam Bliss! There is a difference and it is logical. Ayurvedically to keep something as volatile as what you are describing inside leads Pitta imbalance and to disease of all type. When it is brought forth it is HARD work so you will definitely feel drained and weak, you are taking out the garbage. First of all to witness and feel the "garbage" we have bubbling up from the lower chakras CAN be awful, but it is what it is. Our practice is releasing this but our practice also helps us to "witness" it; don't get attached to it. Just as when you began your practice of Yoga and watched your breath, watch your anger bubbling up. Hmmmmm, my anger is bubbling up. Accept it. No judgement, just observe. Try to find a place you can "escape" to when this anger surfaces, where you can be alone so you don't unleash lower chakra stuff on some unsuspecting soul. Throw rocks into a stream, run, kick cans, whatever it takes to move the energy up and out. Don't yell or scream as this creates more anger and inner turmoil. Afterwards take a cool shower, serve yourself a nice hot cup of tea, and sit down with yourself. Love yourself, be kind. You may feel a need to slow down with your practice a little. Choose 1 or 2 kriyas for awhile, there is no hurry, you are on a path, a journey. Treat yourself with as much kindness as you would show a small child with hurt feelings, acting angry to cover it up. That child is you, be gentle. We love you. Blessings, Guru Ravi Kaur
