Sat Nam,

 

I have a few questions about the meditation:

Kriya for Self Love.

 

I was given the kriya by a friend of mine without instructions for how to

end, so would like to know if I'm doing it corrently. To end: I've been

inhaling, holding my breath with focus at the chin, and stretching the arms

up, then exhaling and shaking out my arms for a few seconds, then sitting

still for 5 - 10 minutes to be with and feel the effects of the kriya. Does

anyone have anything more specific?

 

Also, at day 21 of the Kriya, I unexpectedly started my menstruation 2 weeks

early. This is unusual for me, so I think it must be because of the

breathing. The first posture is 11 minutes of very long deep breathing,

20-20-20, the one minute breath. I'm working my way up and am between 2 and

1 breathe per minute. I know that breathing this slowly increases the

secretion of the pituitary, so could it be the increased secretion of this

gland which is effecting my other hormonal levels?

 

I'd like to hear from other women who have experienced effects on their

menstural cycles from doing the 1 minute breath for 11 minutes daily over an

extended period of time.

 

And just to share what I'm noticing so far with this Kriya...

I am noticing very much that this kriya is starting to awaken in my life a

new way of being with myself (for me this is about becoming kinder and more

gentle with myself) and asking myself, what really makes me happy? Looking

at the choices I make and whether they lead me to feel more whole or not

good inside.

I'm becoming focused on the ways I bring happiness into my life... the kind

which doesn't depend on another person. A sense of integrating the fact

that I do and can have an effect on myself, realising that I can choose to

make choices :-). It makes sense to me but is difficult to verbalize. :)

If anyone has the book containing the meditation, 'Kriya for Self Love',

please can they post it, along with any notes on it.
