Guest guest
Sat Nam I've started a new program today using Nicoderm CQ (I've been a smoker for 12 years), and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, any kriyas or mantras that may help in alleviating addictions. Preferably something i can use at any time of the day whenever the craving hits me hard. I've been chanting RA MA DA SA, SA SAY SO HUNG...but if anyone has any other advice, would be greatly appreciated! Ry =)
Guest guest
I am merely a beginner, but I believe that Sat Kriya would help you a lot. Start with 3 minutes twice daily, and gradually work your way up to 11 minutes. Greetings Ry, Sat nam! Maybe I can give you some suggestions. This summer I gave up cigarrettes (I just calculated, & I want to throw-up!, save maternity- time) for 34 years!ugh!!!Also, gave up coffee; sugar earlier this year, and re-placed it with fructose. I now drink tea, getting on down to the green/herbals, too. I AM not a maniac!!! Just desire PURITY now, or series of nows stretching into months, sready as she goes, into the flow, feeling GOOD!!!Of course do not eat meat! FIRST, you DECIDE to quit. REALLY quit. THEN, you MEDITATE. Via Adi mantra is easiest for me. I received my answer of support, then I KNEW IT WAS DONE!!! AND IT HAS BEEN! The rest is simply ERROR in thinking. You are correct in chanting. RA MA DA SA is EXcellent. Or simply long deep breathing Sat..nams...Physical activity is excellent. I take an excellent herbal supplement that Joseph Michael Levry (Gurunam) recomends in his book "The Divine Doctor",called Gotu Kola and it is very helpful. It promotes memory, energy;is 'brain-food and over-all tonic. This book is fantastic and very informative. Hope this helps! Good luck, and God Bless! Guest guest
I just want to thank everyone for all of the help and suggestions. I'm still chanting RA MA DA SA, but also will keep the BOF for emergencies, which i also found on _www.susankezios.com_ (http://www.susankezios.com) . I also found the Vatsar Kriya, which quite synchronistically my KY instructor had led a week before I REALLY decided that it was time for me to quit. This is actually the fourth time I've decided to quit, but the first to use a smoking aid, and i feel very good about this one. My cravings occur maybe two or three times a day, but that's it. This time i also did all the mathematics about all the money I'm saving, how much less nicotine i'm putting into my system with just using the patch. I don't drink that much caffeine but some green tea in the morning. But one thing I find kinda odd (not necessarily disturbing, just odd) is that...I've been a vegetarian for about a year and a half. And since I've quit smoking, I'm having very odd food cravings. Like Taco Bell, or Burger King, or pork rinds (all stuff that I ate on habit before i stopped eating meat.) LOL, this morning I woke up with an enormous craving for a prime rib, it was just the weirdest thing! I thought about eating meat again, but felt that i would just be substituting another bad habit w/ another. So I will definetly be taking more Vitamin C (juice) and plenty of water and eating lots of veggies. Thanks again for all of your support, I really do believe this is 'one' of the best things I've ever done for myself.
