Guest guest
Dear Sat Sangeet Singh, Cigarettes involves an oxygen withdrawal. Therefore, with proper KY practice, involving lung expansion exercises, the desire to smoke will rapidly wane. Marijuana is particularly insidious, what Yogi Bhajan considered the worst of the various types of psychedelics, because in the process of the drug providing an overall or localized sensation of pranic flow through the nadis, the pumping mechanism in the sex glands that injects into the blood through a duct to the heart the substance necessary for the nerves in the body and brain to carry voltage is inhibited, resulting in a burn out of the nervous system cells and the brain cells. Eventually various mental functions, such as short term memory and other cognitive powers diminish and fail. Yogi Bhajan used to talk about people one might see along the Ganges and other areas that smoked marijuana and hashish who appeared to be in some meditative trance, but which he said were actually more like vegetables, having burned out their capacity for spiritual expansion. Other psychedelics do not cause this inhibition and choking off of the pumping mechanism, though they may cause the occasional opening of nerve groupings in different chakras in a manner that is out of balance resulting in a distorted perception of subconscious projections into the Reality of Being Consciousness that makes up the ground and screen of all we experience. Therefore, with the practice of balanced KY sets, these chakras and nerve groupings can be opened fully in a balanced manner and then shut down as well in an evenly balanced manner, which makes it again possible to still the waves of thought and impression through which the Being Consciousness can be experienced in Its satvic purity. With this experience, which we call "hearing" or sunia, comes the possibility of remembrance that This pervasive screen of Consciousness is Itself our True Nature. What happens with continued use of marijuana and hashish is that because the chemical produced by the sex glands that supports the battery of chakras is no longer present, gradually, the sense of life force and cognitive creative abilities wane, and with it the sense of core being around which we build our sense of identity, meaning that the user has the possibility that they will seek other substances to make up for the feeling of a drained sense of life. The remedy again is to practice powerful KY sets, in particular ones that upon the central Vegas nerve and the right Vegas nerve (mind nerve), which originates in the "Ik Tar" the One Star, located in the Spiritual heart and on the right side of the physical heart, 1/th to the right of sternum, through which the sense of Being, Life and Consciousness originates, projects and fills all the nadis of the body, as well as the mind nerve which carries the sense of Being Consciousness, i.e., the awareness of "I" to the brain where the images are projected. In Tibetan Buddhism, the Ik Tar of Kundalini Yoga, the One Star, is called the Hrdayam ("hrd", literally meaning, That which sucks in everything, and "ayam" meaning expansion/ projection), and the Vegas nerve, or mind nerve that originates in the center of our being, is called the amritnadi and paranadi. In the Sikh Dharma, the Harimandr in the Heart is the highest temple. All this to say that for people using marijuana and feeling a dependence, they should do sets, which should also include Sat Kriya, which activates the pumping mechanism in the sex glands, that charge the central and right Vegas nerve and the One Star. As life force and the since of grounding in pervasive self-luminous Being returns, the feeling and need to use marijuana, hashish and all other drugs will drop off. Yogi Bhajan has a drug rehabilitation program that was sponsored in many of the 3ho ashrams in the US back in the early 70's that was very successful in Washington DC, Phoenix, Tucson, where I was involved and other areas. It was tracked and ranked by US government agencies as the most successful program in the US for Heroin, Methadone, Cocaine and the other hard drugs, and also marijuana and hashish. In summary, for cigarettes and marijuana and hashish dependence, just start a daily practice of KY sets and Keep up. Within short order the dependence and interest in using these will simply vanish, along with any rational one might have had for using them. A friend of mine heard that I got attuned to Reiki and asked help concerning substance abuse (mainly marijuana and cigarettes). I am sure that Reiki can help but can someone share a riya/meditation to help? It seems that these substances attack the nervous system. As a cyber-student of KY, I do not have access to books on the topic but will buy some soon to help me. Thank you for any help! Wahe Guru!
