Guest guest
Dear Yogis, One of my older students has just been advised that her Osteoperosis is getting worse and is concerned about how she might need to change her approach to yoga. She has practiced yoga for many years so is aware of where her limits are and when she needs to do an exercise more gently. Does anyone have any experience or advice I can give her with this? Many thanks, Krishan Shiva Kaur, Hampshire, England.
Guest guest
Sat Nam, To stimulate the calcium in the bones, one needs weight bearing exercises. Standing and balance postures would create the needed pressure on the bones. But that certainly is not enough. THe body needs to be alkaline to retain Ca. That requires diet and water that keeps the body alkaline. Lots of greens. SAt Nam, Gururattan KAur
