Guest guest
Hi, I haven't really introduced myself but have been viewing this group for several months. I have learned alot through this group and have been doing some practices on my own since July. I live in San Diego and actually spoke to Gururattan about joining the Kundalini group. (Thank you for your kind offer, by the way) My only hesitation was my history of hip replacements and paralysis in my left hip. So, I have begun on my own by focusing practices working on my three lower chakras--primarily through chanting and meditation. I actually intermittently have begun feeling energy running thru my paralyzed hip. But, about a month ago my face on the right side broke out really badly. I am 46 and have not had acne since I can remember. This week it spread to other parts of my body. Today, my accupuncturist told me that he believe it was chickhen pox because my immune system is compromised. But he also mentioned that the movement of spinal fluids obviously have stirred up the virus. Since I had chickhen pox as a baby,I was wondering if it possible to bring a dormant virus back to life when waking up the kundalini. I also haven't discounted the effects of emotional healing--anger being a common one. But, now I'm wondering if I should stop until this problem goes away. Also, any suggestions on kriyas that could help would be most appreciated. Thank you and warm blessings, Sara San Diego
Guest guest
Dear Sara, I have begun on my own by focusing practices working on my three lower chakras--primarily through chanting and meditation. * this is good, but you need to move too. Ask your dr what movements you can do. > I actually intermittently have begun feeling energy running thru my paralyzed hip. * this is good. You might like to consider coming to a class just for the energy. It is amazing how much energy there is in the group, whether you do the exercises or not. * You have to ask your dr if you have chicken pox. I was wondering if it possible to bring a dormant virus back to life when waking up the kundalini. * Not normally, but as I said a dr or nurse will be able to recognize chicken pox. > > I also haven't discounted the effects of emotional healing--anger being a common one. But, now I'm wondering if I should stop until this problem goes away. * Don't stop, just do what is appropriate. Do pranayama, and kirtna kriya for emotional balance. Guest guest
I have some experience with this. A dormant virus sounds unlikely. However it is not uncommon to have quite extreme "radiation" when there is some major channel opening. It is a kind of detoxification and it will appear as it does based on your constitutional tendencies. Chicken pox/shingles virus, if you are concerned, will often respond to the homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox. Guest guest
It sounds like you have shingles. I'm not a health professional, but had a boyfriend come down with this once. My understanding is that the chicken pox virus remains in the body, but does, rarely, re-awaken in the form of shingles which is distinctive from chicken pox in terms of symptoms and effects. Chicken pox/shingles is caused by a virus in the herpes family (nothing to do with genital herpes or cold sores, just that they are in the same family and respond to the same or similar medications) and affect the nervous system. Shingles does tend to have a very nasty painful rash that radiates from one side only of the spine. IF YOU HAVE SHINGLES ON YOUR FACE IT CAN BE SIGHT-THREATENING. SEE A DOCTOR. gOOD luck, Mia
