Guest guest
Sat nam, My morning practice is 45 min of yoga stretches and warm-up, postures, etc, then 30 min chanting to the Sadhana tape. I would like to add a mantra to master digestion. Where should I put it? I'm thinking, after I do all my warm-ups? I'll post the mantra next time I'm on here, in case anyone else is interested. {I left it in my car.} Thank you, Kartar Kaur
Guest guest
This is actually a kriya, not a mantra, and here it is, from Shakta Parha Kaur Khalsa's Kundalini Yoga:The Flow of Eternal Power Vatskar Dhouti Kriya To Master the Digestive System She says: "This is one of the secret kriyas in Kundalini Yoga that for centuries had been taught only to the selected few. It is surprisingly simple and quite easy to do, but I assure it works. **Warning: Don't do this if you've just eaten, it has to be done on an empty stomach. Sit in any posture with the spine straight. Make your lips round, in an "O" shape and start inhaling the air as if you're drinking it in a series of repeated small sips. Inhale as many sips as you can possible hold and then stop, close your mouth, hold your breath in and rotate your belly, churning your stomach with your breath held in until you can't hold the breath any more. Then very, very slowly and gently release the breath in one stream through the nose. Repeat this cycle again, inhaling in sips, holding the breath andchurning the stomach, then exhaling through the nose, for a total of 3 cycles. This constitutes one complete kriya. According to yogic teachings you are prohibited from practicing this kriya more than twice in any one day. Note that in this kriya you are inhaling through the mouth which is an exception to the general rule of always breathing through the nose. If you want to gain control of your digestive system, practice this kriya once or twice a day for 40 days. Don't miss a day." kartar kaur. Guest guest
SAt Nam, Vatsar Kriya is in Relax and Renew page 96. This starts out with baby pose, with the arms above the head palms together. Allow your breath to get long and deep first in this postion. It makes it easier to do the rest which was explained in the last email. To master the digestive system, also cut out foods your body has a hard time digesting.
