Guest guest
Dear Chris, What do you mean by pulling locks at the end of Sat Kriya? In Sat Kriya, as you make the sound "ssssss.." you're creating a pressure by pulling in the navel and diaphragm, while restricting the air from going out due to the pressure of the tongue against the upper palate with only the sound "ssss.." escaping. Then as you shift from "ssssss.." to "at" as in "Ssssss...at" the anus and sex organ also comes up with a force, producing the root lock and diaphragm lock. At the same time, as the arms are straight up with the palms together (or alternately in Venus lock with the index fingers together pointed up), with the shoulders back and chin in slightly, you are producing the neck lock. As you say "Ssssss..at" and come to the "..at" part, you are effectively pulling all the locks, squeezing the spine and compressing the air from the lungs, as part of the process. When you relax this, air sips back into the lungs through the nostrils, and then you say "Nam" with the body relaxed (arms still straight up), and repeat the action of the locks with the sound "Ssssss..at" The whole process is very rhythmical. During the "Sat" phase, you are squeezing the energy along and through the spine, aided by the locks, especially at the end of the "..at" portion, so that the energy activates in the Kandal to electrically stimulate the base chakra to release its chemical electric life force through the spine. Because of the repeated compression and relaxing along the spine, the spinal nerves and muscles and ligaments are stimulated and return to vitality, as vitality that extends to the nerves related to the chakras. The energy comes through the 4th and 3rd ventricles of the brain, stimulating the pineal gland, which protrudes in the 3rd ventricle. The effect is to see the energy flowing through the spine to the throat, then a passage to the crown and out through the crown and 10th gate. You may also see the energy flowing to the ajna and from there to the crown and out. It is particularly useful to do Sat Kriya in this version or the whisper version (where the sound "Nam" is made on the inhalation), after a powerful set of postures, movements together with powerful breathing techniques, such as Breath of Fire (done correctly), or powerful expansion and contraction of the lungs while in a kriya with motion, or a prolonged period of long deep breathing with postures or mudras. This is because the postures and movements combined with breathing generate an electricity and voltage in the body. The voltage is sustained by the secretion of the glands, in particular the sex glands. While proper waiting after the active part of the kriya during the passive part will trigger the glands to secrete, so that you can feel the sensation of the electric charge expanding, then deepening, then penetrating from the areas the kriya put under pressure circulating to the whole body, Sat Kriya will cause the glands to directly secrete, which will aid in the sustaining and deepening of the voltage throughout the body even more, resulting in a pervasive feeling of radiance, and seeing in and around the body with the mind's eye, which is to say to as though you are seeing that which appears within a sphere within the three dimensional screen of the all-pervasive Consciousness in and around the body (part of what is meant by becoming what Yogi Bhajan calls a Sensory Human). As the nerves (nadis) carry greater voltage, they radiate incandescently revealing in and around the body the screen of consciousness that illumines us. This means that through these practices and kriyas we become aware of our true nature, until eventually, we realize that who we are is the screen and that this self-illuminated screen is unconditioned by time or space, uncaused, always realized, and our True Identity. This awakening of our awareness is felt inwardly with the soundless acknowledgement that "I am the Truth." - which is ultimately the exoteric meaning we experience as Sat Nam. All this to say that your question about pulling the root lock or all the locks at the end of Sat Kriya is like saying, after drinking 108 cups of water is it ok to drink another, because during Sat Kriya, you use all the locks to their maximum effect. You can find more about the practice and breathing by going to Kundalini Yoga Sadhana - Radiant Road to Reality http://www.kundalini-matashakti.com/radiant.html After some time, as the voltage increases, you will begin to have an electromagnetic sensation in the kandal area (between the navel and 4th vertebra) of the root lock coming up and locking. The whole mind will open and you will feel like someone on top of a mountain peak with utter clarity of vision integrated with a world in which you feel at total ease, completely without fear. Well, like we remember Yogi Bhajan. Pieter Message: 5 Sun, 12 Dec 2004 14:05:07 -0800 (PST) chris charles <ccharles79 Sat Kriya ? Which is better to do 11mins before pulling mulabanda and neck lock or to break up time into 3min. rounds pulling locks alternating with 3mins resting until I reach 11mins -ie- 3 rounds + 2min round = 11mins. -Chris --
Guest guest
Dear Chris, Either way. When you finish a round or at the end, simply lean forward, put your forhead on the ground and stretch your arms forward for 5 to 10 minutes. You can also start with spinal flexes for 5 minutes, then alternat shoulder raising for 5 minutes, then Sat Kriya for 5 minutes and then, as described above 5 to 10 minutes in pranam pose. I will continue in my practice and one day I hope to discover my true identity, maybe it be sooner than later. My question still remains should I do increments of 5mins and lay out 5mins, working up to 31mins or should I do 15mins without stopping. -Chris --- Pieter <pietersa wrote: Dear Chris, What do you mean by pulling locks at the end of Sat Kriya?
