Guest guest
Sat nam Ann I used to get rhinitis as well as asthma, well still a touch every now and then. Yoga in general (hatha and kundalini) seems to have largely kept it at bay though in the past year or so for me. Specifically too hatha yoga's Alternate Breath seems to have helped and is supposedly known to help clear nasal congestion. You'll probably find versions of the asana on the Internet. The biggest problem I found was getting started with it (not being able to inhale because of the congestion, a real catch 22) but do what you can and maybe slowly it'll help. Good luck! Guest guest
Sat Nam Ann! Congratulations! Nasal congestion or allergy of any kind in Ayurveda is seen as Kapha Dosha out of balance and immune system depression. Not surprisingly Kapha is accumulating at the present time. If you have access to an Ayurvedic Physician or Practitioner I would recommend receiving Nasya Treatment (careful about meds used) or Treatment of the 14 Nadis. At the very least perform nasya, using organic sesame seed oil (without the meds because of pregnancy) at least 2x daily. Massage face, sinus' and neck with the warmed oil and try a Dosha calming spray. Make sure there are not essential oils included which should not be used in pregnancy. As for guidance about KY and Pregnancy Gurmukh is the expert! Order DVD's/Videos and her books from yogatech.com. If you would like more detailed info on the Doshas contact me off list or visit my site www.skyoftheheartyoga.com. You can order Ayurvedic products there also. Best of health to you and your precious gift! Guru Ravi Kaur

Guest guest
Congratulations! "It is very essential for the woman to be very, very sensible because then only can she create in the child of tomorrow the very manifestation to be a very sensible person. Children do not learn in school. In schools and colleges we learn to communicate our sensed, to express our senses. Actually what we learn comes from the mother and the father. And whatever we learn in the hand of the mother and father goes a long way. If we learn wrong things at that time and if God is graceful and merciful, then the time will come that we can walk to the path to cut off the karma to living the life of Dharma." Yogi Bhajan - Gift of Giving Life, Vol I. At Yogatech there are, at least, these three sources. Also, there is a book called the "Ancient Art of Self Healing" by Yogi Bhajan and the Dr. Amir Arberman (Eugene, OR) that if you can find, has a wealth of info based in the Vedic (Yogic) traditions. If you cannot find it (Amazon?) I can get some info to you. In the meantime, check out the below three links.
