Guest guest
Sat Nam, I too read the NM being and decided to start the Sat Kriya. I thought it would be okay to add to the 4/4 breath and the silent meditation. One thing I noticed in doing the Sat Kriya is throughout the day, I am angry in general and in a funk. I was wondering if this is usual? I thought maybe it is just me releasing some anger kept in my lower chakras? I will feel fine right after doing the meditation, almost euphoric. This angry feeling I get sort of creeps up on me as I go about my day until I notice many of my thoughts are self-defeating and I am upset with everything. I have noticed while doing the kriya, how much I warm up, almost sweating, and I can sometimes feel the warmth move up to my head and my face. Is this an okay reaction to the meditation? Also, sometimes, when I am finished the entire meditation (having said Sat Nam), my third eye area on my forehead will have a buzzing feeling, I am spacey and sometimes I get a headache. Is there anything I can do to not get headaches? The headaches are focused mainly on the frontal area and sometimes through the facial area. They are not a piercing pain, but rather a dull ache. Also, Pieter wrote a note to Chris Charles on December 14, regarding the Sat Kriya...He mentions on saying the Nam part that you inhale through the nostrils. Do you do this before you say Nam or after? Does this mean the Nam part is said on the out breath? Thank you kindly... Namaste, Lucia Ledwith Chico, CA Dress up your holiday email, Hollywood style. Guest guest
Sat Nam, > I too read the NM being and decided to start the Sat Kriya. I thought it would be okay to add to the 4/4 breath and the silent meditation. The silent meditation is to get a baseline for your future practice and to get you used to sitting quietly in silence after whatever meditation and yoga set you do. > One thing I noticed in doing the Sat Kriya is throughout the day, I am angry in general and in a funk. I was wondering if this is usual? This is not necessarily usual, but it is a normal reaction especially for beginners. There are other excercises as well that can uncover subconscious anger. I felt very angry when I first started doing Sadhana. I became aware of it while doing sitting punching exercises. > > I thought maybe it is just me releasing some anger kept in my lower chakras? It is coming up to be looked at, examined and then released. Also you need to use this energy to DO something. Do something for yourself that makes you feel good, powerful or able to take care of yourself. Read the Ky on-line lessson on the navel center. So feel the energy and use it to take action instead of think. > I have noticed while doing the kriya, how much I warm up, almost sweating, and I can sometimes feel the warmth move up to my head and my face. Is there anything I can do to not get headaches? At the end pull the energy up the spine and out the top of the heads and through the hands. i.e. release it. Then before or after chanting Sat Nam 3 times, be with your feelings in your body and feel very present. You need to release to not get a head ache and to ground to not feel spacey. The headaches are focused mainly on the frontal area and sometimes through the facial area. They are not a piercing pain, but rather a dull ache. * This is the opening of the third eye and should pass. > > Also, Pieter wrote a note to Chris Charles on December 14, regarding the Sat Kriya...He mentions on saying the Nam part that you inhale through the nostrils. Do you do this before you say Nam or after? Does this mean the Nam part is said on the out breath? Pietre will have to respond to that. I don't think about the breath. it is too confusing and disrupts the rhythm. Sat nam, Gururattan Kaur Coronado, CA
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Thanks to Guruttan and Pieter for their responses. I come to find, the more I learn, the less I know and the more I want to know! Guruttan, I am not getting headaches anymore! Yeah! I wasn't keeping my hands up above my head when I would do the root locks. That with focusing the energy through my head and hands helped tremendously. I think that was the part of the problem with the anger too...it wasn't being released. And thank you for reminding me of NOT thinking too much. I have tendencies towards overthinking, trying to understand with my head instead of my heart. There is so much to know in this "art/way of life" that it can be overwhelming...but I have the rest of this life to contemplate and enjoy Kundalini Yoga. Pieter, I will delve further into what you wrote of the One Star Spirituality. By the way, what is the wonderful music you have playing on your web page? I am always on the lookout for music for my Bowen Therapy practice (a gentle muscle manipulation technique) and that song really put me and my family in a calming space. Once again, thank you both for your responses. Happy Solstice and Happy Holidays! Namaste, Lucia Ledwith Chico, CA Send holiday email and support a worthy cause. Do good.
