I am a grown child of multiple abuses who is trying to sort things

out still. I have been reading your posts for several months and have

been dealing with terrible headaches, migrainesm, 2 herniated disks

and a tailbone injury. I am afraid to start yoga, in fact fear and

anxiety plays a large role in my life to this day, it always has.

I have changed my diet to whole foods and eliminated many

medications and doctors because they did not work anyway. They just added

many layers of useless grey over my problems. I am currently seeing

a craniosacral therapist, whom has helped me a lot. I want to begin

KY, but I find it difficult. I can feel this negative energy almost

exposed ready and waiting to be disgarded and I need help.

Does anyone know a very safe and warm place in Northern VIrginia,

McLean or Arlington preferably where I can begin going? It is hard

to choose from the yellow pages- i would rather heard from my online

community.

Thank you all.

Blessings,

I cannot offer advice on a teacher but I can tell you that KY will

help you in dealing with the abuses. I have only been practicing for

a few years but it has helped me deal with things that 20 years of

everything else hasn't touched. I understand fear and anxiety

especially when trying new things. KY is a gentle place to begin and

I encourage you to go.

Sat Nam: There is a large community in Herndon, VA if you are anywhere

near that. The changes you have already made seem to be in a positive

direction. Why not continue that by establishing a yoga and meditation

practice? Talk honestly and openly with the teacher. You might look up

Shakta Kaur Khalsa, a very compassionate lady who has written a number

of books on kundalini yoga.

Blessings,

Sounds like Virginia has got more than her fair share of good Kundalini Yoga

teachers!

You are obviously in a good place to expand your life now. You may not fully

realise it but your involvement in Kundalini Yoga even so far is bringing you

out of the darkness. So try and seek out a teacher because he or she will help

you to keep going.

Chanting one of the mantras or playing any of the beautiful CD's available fron

Yoga Tech will really help you to heal too,

Love

Guru Sahai,

Wahe Guru Karta Purkh,

Beautiful music comes out of that community.

Dear One,

You are in my thoughts and my heart goes out to you.

These three books have been invaluable to me in my

years long, in-depth healing: You Can Heal Your Life

by Louise Hay, teaches self-love and gives the

metaphysical cause with affirmations for a whole long

list of ailments; Five Steps to Emotional Healing,

Gloria ARenson, a simple way to self heal the

body-mind by tapping on the meridian system; and Mind

Cure by Julia Ross, which has a questionnaire at the

beginning to help you assess which body system you may

want to address with mostly inexpensive

over-the-counter amino acid (they make up protein)

supplements.

I am healing multipe childhood abuse issues,

headaches, migraines, anxiety, depression, lack of

focus. Right now, the Alexander Technique is helping

me a lot. Remember perhaps, the great Buddha's

teaching that nothing is permanent. And great strength

can be gleaned from the experiences of overcoming

seemingly insurmountable obstacles. In closing, a

quote and a poem:

"In every human, is a heaven, whole and unbroken."

- Paracelus, 15th Century physician

Love yourself

for no one can be closer

or share more time with you

be patient

and kind to yourself

value your attributes

appreciate your gifts

Let go of the past

retaining only its

wisdom

remain aware

for your are now

new
