Guest guest
Hello, I am having pain on left side of the neck (back side)and it seems to be the extended trapezius muscle that is hurting. The muscle becomes tender some time during computer work and doctor diagnosed it as cervical spondylosis. I have a muscle spasm kind of feeling in the left rhomboid muscle area and visually my left shoulder is slightly higher than the right shoulder. As I started doing the "flexible spine" exercises, the spasm on left shoulder cleared 90% and I am feeling good. But the neck pain still remains. Is there any specific exercise so that I can concentrate on the root cause of cervical spine allignement? Thanks in advance vv1k
Guest guest
You might want to try shoulder twists. This helped me a lot in strengthening neck and shoulders. Hold hands on shoulders with thumb pointing backwards and twist to the left breathing in SAT , exhale to the right with NAM... start with slow rhythms.. Guest guest
On 14th february vvlk asked "Is there any specific exercise so that I can concentrate on the root cause of cervical spine allignement? Thanks in advance". Dear vvlk I am sure there are specific exercises that you can do for your neck however whatever exercises you do it is more about the focus and quality of the attention that you bring to the exercise that will help you to understand why your neck and spine is troubling you. Wishing you well, Sat Nam, Guru Sahai Kaur.
Guest guest
Thanks. I believe in quality exercise and lot of attention. I have found out that the root cause for this has been due to sleeping on my stomach. And I correceted it and the problem is not aggravating. But I have already got some damage which is causing some pain in the neck. Now if I can get some neck exercises prescribed by Kyoga, I can do it with lot of attention and quality. Could you suggest some of the exercises? Thanks once again vv1k Kundaliniyoga, "Ruth Levy-So" <ruthlevyso@v...> wrote: > > On 14th february vvlk asked > "Is there any specific exercise so that I can concentrate on the root cause of cervical spine allignement? > > Thanks in advance". > Dear vvlk > I am sure there are specific exercises that you can do for your neck however whatever exercises you do it is more about the focus and quality of the attention that you bring to the exercise that will help you to understand why your neck and spine is troubling you. > Wishing you well, > > Sat Nam, > > Guru Sahai Kaur. > >
Guest guest
Dear w1k If you are a beginner in Kundalini Yoga I suggest doing the Basic Spinal energy series (Sadhana Guidelines p.45/6) carefully. Or if you are more experienced in Kundalini Yoga the Wha Guru Kriya (Kundalini meditation manual for Intermediate students, p.61) is amazing for the neck and spine. Alternatively shoulder shrugs followed by slow head and rotations good. maybe also get a massage, Sat Nam, Guru Sahai - vv1k Kundaliniyoga Tuesday, February 15, 2005 11:56 AM Re: Kundalini Yoga Cervical Spondylosis Thanks.
