Guest guest
I've always had to substitute the easy pose for this pose. The pain is quite intense and I can't even get that close to my heels. This morning I tried to go as far as I could for one minute, thinking that maybe this would be a way to be able to do this. It hurts a lot but I want to do it. It hurts the back of my feet.too. Any ideas? Is this something that simply never be able to do? Guest guest
Sat nam. I had the same problem some years ago and still have it sometimes in the morning. From my experience: try doing it after the yoga set and also in the evening when the limbs are softer. I would suggest to do Sat kriya and slowly work up the time. And remember to strive to root the heels with the sit bones. Regards Jan-Erik Kundaliniyoga, "brownlarkin" <larkin@i...> wrote: > > > I've always had to substitute the easy pose for this pose. Guest guest
Try putting a pillow between your butt and your heels. Or maybe a pillow underneath your feet. (Or both!) My wife has a small bench that keeps her off her heels but delivers the essential posture of rock pose (though not the exact position). Life is a series of small adjustments or compromises that bring us closer and closer to the ideal that is life. Guest guest
Sat Nam, I had the same problem when I started practicing Kundalini Yoga. The year prior, I experienced a lot of stress and had gotten out of shape, and did too much physical work that was hard on the knees and ankles. It took almost a year of daily pracitce to get flexible. I practiced sadhana with dense, flat pillows. For rock pose, you can put one under the knees and a long narrow one over your ankles to gently sit on until this no longer becomes necessary. If you are practicing kriyas that improve the strenth and flexibility of the ankles and knees, and you clean up your diet and drink lots of water, you can get your flexibility back. Hope this helps, Linda.
