Guest guest
Hello Group, I have been practising sa ta na ma meditation as described in the book by yogi bhajan, the power of the spoken word. However, it has not made any effect on my consciousness at all. I find it hard to believe that meditating on these 4 words can cause a change in someones consciousness. Can someone explain to me, what is the physiological and psychological effect of this kind of meditation, what is going on in the background in your mind and body, while you are chanting these words? If I know this, then maybe I would have more faith in the process. S Singh
Guest guest
Sat nam, SA--infinity,cosmos, beginning TA--life,existence NA--death MA--rebirth These are the five primal sounds. Chanting "SA-TA--NA-MA' is the primal or nuclear form of "Sat Nam." It has the energy of the atom in it, and when you chant this mantra, as in "Kirtan Kria, " along with correct sitting and spinal alignment; following the directions precisely for hand mudras, you will bring a total mental balance to your psyche. As you vibrate on each fingertip with the hand mudra clearly explained, you alternate your electrical polarities. SA-TA-NA-MA taken together is the cycle of Creation. From the Infinite comes life and individual existence. EFFECTS: With continued practice; Knowledge, Wisdom, Intelligence, Patience, Vitality, and Ability to Communicate!!! Why not consider signing -up for a KY class, If there's one in your area, or simply go to Kundaliniyoga.org for FREE down-loadable lessons!!! I did! What a help it was for me!!! Guest guest
--- Dear S. Singh, There is a book by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa called Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power. She discusses the technology of meditation and might offer some answers to your questions. I appreciate you asking the question cuz I sometimes find myself, sitting in Easy Pose, doing whichever meditation I'm doing, and I think, 'Am I crazy to think that my tongue in a certain place in my mouth, and my hands in a certain way can change my consciousness?' Because most of us don't have anything in our experience to think this could be true. But still I continue to do the meditations cuz I feel results. When you say you see no results, I wonder if perhaps the results are very subtle? Also, are you doing any other practice, such as 1 hr of kundalini yoga kriyas every day? This might make a difference. There is also a web site which has a lot of information for your brain .. http://www.kundalini-matashakti.com/ This website has a lot of detailed information on how the technology works. I'm not sure how much of the info is from the author of the website and how much is from Yogi Bhajan, but probably there are people on this list who might know that. Anyway I think it is good to be skeptical, and trust your experience. I think there is so much that is good in Kundalini Yoga that I hope some may be available to you. best, Kartar Kaur In Kundaliniyoga, "suky321" <suky321> wrote: > > > Hello Group, > > I have been practising sa ta na ma meditation as described in the > book by yogi bhajan, the power of the spoken word.
