Guest guest
The following is my opinion based on my research. Anyone with more info is welcome to correct me: I think it's safe to say that KY has within it some of the oldest technologies in yoga. It's easy to understand how people from other traditions get offended at the claims of KY. I inadvertantly offended an ashtanga teacher when I showed her the flyer for my class (stating that KY is the root science of all other yogas). For instance, Hatha Yoga (where most of the yoga in US is derived regardless of name) is very ancient also, KY has alot of Hatha yoga in it. So, when talking to another yogi from another tradition, I try and include them by finding the things we have in common. As far as KY is concerned, (my understanding is) YB studied many traditions and had numerous teachers and he brilliantly combined these very ancient, secret and powerful techniques together into one system. So, in a sense KY is the oldest of traditions but it also combines numerous ancient yogic technologies. So, between us KY yogis, it IS the most powerful, most comprehensive, most whollistically effective of yogas. But it's also understandable that someone who's been studying Hatha for 20 years will feel offended if we tell them ours is the source of their knowledge. There may be some truth in what we say but, it's hard for some people to hear. Guest guest
Sat Nam Shabad: I try not to worry about anyone becoming offended by any teachings relating to yoga, be it Hatha Yoga, KY, Bikram Yoga, etc. I don't believe offense should be taken (fear is involved, if there is offense). Information shared is an opportunity for someone to open up to other teachings, methods... opportunities that could help this soul! There is so much dogma in the physical... and, so much to learn from everyone, from all walks of life, on modes of communicating and meditating. WE are not here to please others, only ourselves (and the God within). Namaste' Betty
