Guest guest
I have been following the thread on detox very much, in particular all that has been said about different addictions. From a medical point of view I found that very interesting, though I am luckily not addicted to smoking or coffeine myself. However, I have a great liking for chocolate. I helps me keeping up good spirits. It seems to be a pacifier whenever I am in stress or under pressure. I am more friendly when I have eaten chocolate and can take things more easily. I am not a friend of additional sugars and avoid synthetic sugars, honey (that I have allergy of) and sweetened drinks. - My question is whether the great liking of chocolate and I am eating it really in considerable amounts is lastely harmful to my system? Am I clogging up energies? I am not really sure of it. To my mind the endorphine-dose is very positive. As for my body I can state that I have normal and even a bit less than normal weight - as always. My complexion is that of a rather lymphatic type of person. Please let me know if you think eating chocolate regularily and in bigger amounts could be harmful. How should I substitute it, if at all? Guest guest
sat nam betty, lately there has been a lot of research showing that chocolate can help clean out your arteries and lower cholesterol. of course, it depends what kind of chocolate you eat. the purest is the best - i.e., with less (or no) milk and little sugar added. i am in seattle, washington, and hereabouts we can get chocolate that is as much as 85% pure. it really does kind of taste like medicine! but a very delicious medicine! it has also been shown to have antioxidants and special benefits (in addition to the appeal) for women. and of course, there are real chemical reasons for why it makes us feel cheerful. if eating it isn't causing any problems, maybe you needn't worry. worrying might do that! all blessings, sue Elisabeth wrote: > > Please let me know if you think eating chocolate > regularily and in bigger amounts could be harmful. Guest guest
Anything over 70% is approaching prozac in it's capacity to alter your mood and enhance your state of mind. Go for it, girl! On the other hand, if at its root it is sugar or comfort we crave, then it is best to do do some bow pose or some pelvic lifts so that we open our diaphragm and allow the flow of prana to our heart chakra so that we can stimulate the release of our own mood enhancers. I do this often whenever I notice myself making frequent trips to the frig. Japji also gives me a taste of the inner Nectar - one that I can actually taste on my tongue and in my mind.
