In Ayurveda, chocolate (along with alcohol) is considered to be one of

the main agents that pushes ama further down the tissues :(

 

Ama are toxins produced due to improper food combining or/and low

digestive fire (agni). Starting out in the GI tract is can move into

deeper tissues creating potential for disease, lessening the metabolic

capacities of that tissue, and clogging it's cell membranes (causing

malabsorption and distorting cellular communication, causing more

"perverted" cravings).
