Hi Linda,

well, the student should stay in contact with his/her doctor.

Does he/she have symptoms and/or feels problems at all ?

Regariding BOF and stretch pose etc.: Let her/him try out *slowly*

and *carefully*. Do not force anything! She has to develop an

awareness whats going on in the diaphragm area. If there are no

symptoms during or after beginning exercises (would be heartburn and

acid regurgitation, Pain in the chest, difficulty breathing or

trouble swallowing), then *slowly* let her get used to the exercises,

built up .

When the diaphragm becomes trained, and eating is reduced to smaller

portions, then the diaphragm will strengthen and things will get

fine. Especially with all the other benefits from Yoga like

Relaxation, enhanced awareness , proper diet etc...
