Question about spinal alignment

I have a question about spinal alignment during meditation. First some

history. In my 20's I had some back problems. I went to a chiropractor

quite frequently for about a year. Now I still go, but only twice a year.

Initially when I started meditating, I would go for 20 minutes to a half

hour, and I had no problems with my spine. Now, as I find myself

meditating for up to 1.5 hours, when I'm finished, I find that my spine

has gone out of alignment because as I lay back to stretch out after

meditating, my spine cracks quite a bit. I feel it crack from the middle

of my back, all the way up to the base of my neck.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any ideas on keeping better alignment so I can avoid this?

Thanks much in advance for any help!

Sat nam Rob,

May I ask what type of meditation are you doing that lasts almost 2H.?

A Kryia, such as the Shodarshan Chakra? Any other silent meditation

lasts no more than 31 min.

I would support my back by sitting against small pillow @ sacral area

& next to a wall for proper alignment as well as support.

Please do the sun salutation &/or warm ups with Adi mantra first.

All Blessings,
