Guest guest
Hello First of all, thank you to everyone who has given me advice on this list before. I have followed the posts on kirtan kryia and Deva's 1000 day meditation during the last while with a bit of envy: about 18 months ago I tried to do kirtan kryia, and managed only a few days because I experienced this: I felt extremely tired, dizzy, forgetful, heard voices, saw frightening visions, and felt like I was the embodiment of fear. Also, making decisions about the most trivial things was very difficult, and something I don't normally have a problem with. This "madness" continued for a few weeks afterwards, until one night when I went to bed, and thought: ".. now, come on all you voices and scary visions, come and scare me as much as you please." And I allowed them all to play themselves out until there was nothing left. The next day it was as if my eyes had opened up to reality, and it felt so good! Since then I have been able to see into the mechanics of relationships, to generally see things more objectively, and to read situations. People who used to manipulate me simply don't find any foothold to do so anymore, and it has become easy to determine when people are trying (always unconciously) to take my energy. For this I am so grateful - it is as though my emotional strings used to be very out of tune and they have become tuned. I guess I just need encouragement from the teachers on this list - that taking up kirtan kryia again will be o.k. I want to befriend it, not be scared of it.The initial experience was unbelievably frightening and there are no teachers in our city. I have been doing nabhi kryia and working up to 11 minutes of adi mantra meditation for a few months now and doing great. Guest guest
Dear Santie, Thanks for sharing your experience with Kirtan Kriya and your fears. That is very impressive that you have invited in all the fears and then got the release. This illustrates that we do have to face our fears and other torments in order to release them. The mantra meditations bring them up so we can face them. We can never know the exact formula. These meditations work on releasing the subconscious and sometimes things are released without us knowing. Other times we are confronted headon and have to look at what is coming at us with open eyes. (and heart!) It appears to me that the key factor for you was allowing yourself to embrace your fears. Now another level of fear is coming up. You want assurance that it will be safe to do Kirtan Kriya again. However, there is no way to know. One important factor is your fear level. If you are willing to go for it and to face the unknown again, it will be very powerful for you. The results you achieved the last time are very liberating. This should be an encouraging factor. So you have to decide. Can I jump into the unknown? Your exact experiece no one can know. But there is one guarantee, you will grow, you will change, something very empowering and liberating will come out of your next encounter with Guru Kirtan Kriya. > I want to befriend it, not be scared of it. This critical. Talk to Guru Kirtan Kriya before you do it everyday and declare that you want to release your fear and find a trusting friend. Then do the meditation with love. Like you are making love to the sounds. Remember, if things get too intense, you can always stop until you catch up with the processing required. That is what you did the first time and it was a wise decision. And the benefits and growth in your psyche were amazing. You can also start out with 11 instead of 31 minutes. So let us know. I would like to see what happens next. My feeling is that you have passed the greatest tests and fears. And that the next time will be different. But I do not know for sure. You are doing great. Your commitment is admirable. You are ready for the next phase of your evolution. Blessings, Gururattan Kaur :+)
