If you are selecting "individual" exercises to teach students in class then yes, it is damaging both to the student and to your vibration/karma as a teacher. The teachings are not to be diluted, changed, altered, obscured, Etc. in any way whatsoever. It's not Kundalini Yoga, it's Kirsten Yoga which doesn't have the Golden Chain backing it up. Don't do it. Breaking up a set is like reading only a few chapters of a novel. Do you really know what is going on in the book. You might get a flavor but not the full effect. Now, if you are talking about your own personal practice, I think you can do any exercises you like in any sequence you like (Though it is recommended you start from the bottom chakra and work your way up in warmups). But certain exercises go together (as in a "kriya")and probably should not be done. Why fool with a science that has been effective for thousands of years? Guest guest
Dear co teachers thanks so much for your answer, Karta I am aware that K-yoga should not be diluted or transformed when taught. But I wasn´t talking about when I teach, but more my personal practise. You know, sometimes a manual will say: "practise this for 40 days". Therefore, I often collect a couple of those I want to work on for 40 days, and do those together Or I´ll do a couple of the exerises my body seems to crave for whenever I need them (fx during the work day, when I don´t have time for an entire kriya) I do this because YB always sais that KY is the "yoga of the household" - you ca fit in the exercises when you need them But I don´t wnat to do this if you think i´t could be damaging in any way to not do entire sets. What do you think? thanks for your time Kirsten > > You phrase the question as though you are a teacher. Guest guest
Dear Kirsten,Sat Nam why is it that you are choosing to do several individual exercises, rather than a whole set? more details would be helpful to answer your question (: Jiwan Shakti --- kirsten stendevad <kirsten.stendevad wrote: > dEAR CO-TEACHERS > I often pick several individual exercises to do > rather than a whole set. Guest guest
Sat Nam In my experience, Yogiji gave a very limited number of exercises that are to be done alone. So Darshan Chakra Kriya, Sat Kriya, Kirtan Kriya, etc but in general parts of kriyas are just that -- a part of the whole. If you find one part of a kriya beneficial then how much more would you get out of doing the entire set? At your discretion you probably can and should do certain exercises if you feel so inclined. I think Yogiji was probably trying to avoid the dilution of the teachings by urging us to keep them complete both in our teaching and personal practice. I am sorry to sound like a fanatic but the smallest crack in the dam of purity will grow inevitably to a gushing loss of integrity. I think we need to be as responsible in practicing and teaching KY as he was in delivering it to us. Sat Nam & God bless you
Guest guest
sat nam For example, I read Gurmuks books. She recommends "do this if you feel fearful", "do that if you need emotional balance" etc I find it very useful that in this way, on top of sadhana, I can use yoga to get thorugh the day in a sane manner I find that this is how KY can be helful for the Aquarian age On the other hand i don´t want to do something inappropriat e this is why I asked Does this clarify?
