Guest guest Posted May 10, 2005 Report Share Posted May 10, 2005 Sat Nam Everyone, I have been perscribed an amphetamine-based drug called "adderall" for ADHD which is a stimulant. Although I do not take it daily, (only when I think I need it) I have come to discover that it has a very profound affect on me. I am usually an unmotivated, unorganized and lazy person and dont accomplish much, but when I take my med, I suddenly become filled with fire, mental energy and a motivation to accomplish things and do the things I have dreamed of doing. I did some research on the drug and found that amphetamine mocks the neurotransmitter norepeniprene, which is adrenaline, thus causing increased energy, focus and mental fire. Amphetamine affects not only the adrenal glands but certain parts of the brain linked with pleasure (dopamine centers) and those linked with impluse control. Now, my question is this...are the affects of amphetamine not unlike the awakening of the navel chakra? If someone has had a similar experience like this through KY or in any other form, I would be very interested in hearing it. Also, if anyone knows of a particular kriya for ADHD, that would be great too; but for now, I will stick with stretch pose and breath of fire.
