Guest guest
sat nam everybody, a friend of mine was told by a 'personal trainer' that it is possible for the body to get TOO much oxygen. he said that is why it's important to take antioxydants. this sounds wrong to me! isn't breath of fire, for example, an exercise to increase the amount of oxygen in the body?? how can oxygen be bad? or is this true, and part of the reason we are encouraged to take longer, deeper breaths when we *aren't* practicing pranayama? i have heard that our lifespan is set at a certain number of breaths, and when we've used them up is when we die. but even that doesn't speak to the actual amount of oxygen our bodies receive. i've also heard that cancerous organs that are removed, are found to be oxygen-deprived. so it seems to me, the more oxygen (prana!), the better. can anyone clear this up for me? thank you! sue in seattle
