Guest guest
Sat Nam, > how do you "set the navel?" See my free on line lesson on the navel center. My first KY yoga manual Transitions to a Heart Centered World is devoted to this. ( www.yogatech.com )The main point is that in order to open and keep open the heart the navel energy must be strong. The lower chakras ground the heart energy so it will stay open. If the heart is just opened from the upper chakras, it can't be manifested in the world. Guest guest
sat nam! from the earlier posts, i got to wondering if there was some particular exercise one should do before a meditation to "set the navel," like stretch pose or something. but maybe what was meant is that one should do ongoing work on the navel center just in general? separate question (if moderators will allow), and i'm afraid it's one of those "is it dangerous" questions, but here it is: sometimes i feel very sleepy driving, and i find it helps to do some breath of fire. is it a bad idea to do that while driving? it does wake me up! thank you! bless you all!! sue in seattle Gururattan Kaur Khalsa wrote: > Sat Nam, > > > how do you "set the navel?" > > See my free on line lesson on the navel center. > My first KY yoga manual Transitions to a Heart Centered World is > devoted to > this. Anytime you raise your feet above your hips you are doing Navel work. In a general sense, a balance is needed between our sensitivity and groundedness. It is an ongoing process that goes way beyond the yoga session. Before a meditation you absolutely want to ground and prepare your self. Gururatan is 100% on target with her words. I think that's okay. Sometime our energy gets stuck in loops of the subconscious "ditties" and it's easy to drift off. I will do Mul Bhand, sometime, to keep myself alert. I prefer to pull over and give myself a 10 minute power nap and from that short time off the road I can go for hours more. Guest guest
Sat Nam Sue, we work on the naval center daily, this is the area in which we relate to people & by having a strong naval center you are more able to say no when you need to & yes to yourself! Wahe Guru! You will also find that when the naval center is strong you will not be as affected by other peoples "shtuff" (as I call it), you will be able to recognize that those are their issues, not yours....powerful! & it is important during turblent times to stand strong in our center, keeping a neutral mind & not be affected....smiles with many blessings, Jiwan Shakti > sat nam! > from the earlier posts, i got to wondering if there > was some particular > exercise one should do before a meditation to "set > the navel," like > stretch pose or something. but maybe what was meant > is that one should > do ongoing work on the navel center just in general? Guest guest
Sat Nam, dear Sue, the best workout for setting the navel is IMHO Nabhi Kriya. I can honestly recommend it. Start with half times and then work out to full times. Do it for 40 days and you will see, that not only your abs are much better toned, but also your willpower and calmness improves tremendously. Breath of fire while driving car is fine, as long as you keep the eyes open ;-) I personally recommend occassionally a short rest at a parking lot, do some stretching, some frogs, some breath of fire, drinking some water (with lemon juice). I just returned from Techers Training Level 2 with Gurumarka, Karta Singh and Satya Singh from the South of France and did this while driving back to my parents (700 km). Don't forget to recite the triple or protection mantra before starting the engine (Ad guray namey, djugad guray....) Sending blessings and light from Shanghai, Adarsh S.
