Guest guest
Sat Nam, In general, you should warm up with a pranayama, some stretching and flexing of course at least and perhaps a short kriya and then begin with Sat Kriya. As for the rest between the three kriyas, you should do what feels best while remembering that there is a flow between these practices that should be maintained. Resting too long may simply break that flow ... but then how long is too long? I would say start out with 3-5 min each but increase if they are not difficult for you rather quickly and at a good pace to 11 min each for at least 40 days. If you are really feeling good, eleven minutes could be just a waystation on the road to 31 min. each which becomes challenging and powerful. Oh yes, and amazing! Guest guest
Sat nam Jiwan Mukta Singh, On the question of how long to rest between Kriyas when doing the "Aquarian Meditation". I've been taught to keep it real short. What I do is rest/let go effectively enough to feel a nice "sigh", a relatively full release of the effort involved in performing the previous Kriya/posture. Guru Prem in LA calls it "dis-corporating". Allow yourself to tune into the sensations (more at http://kundaliniyoga.org/kyt13.html ) As Karta Purkh has pointed out we don't want to rest so long that we break the flow. Guest guest
Sat Nam Jiwan Mutka, In looking at what your meditations are, a few warm ups to warm up the spine I personally would do,then Sat Kriya which is a complete Kriya in its own (so another Kriya isn't necessary)in fact it has been said that in our Sadhana practice if we are limited with time that this would be a good kriya to do (: you asked about time,in class I start with 3 minutes & as the students get stronger time is built up...3 minutes can be a long time for someone who has never done it before, & in class they are able to "keep up" because of the energy in class, when they choose to start this practice at home I usually recommend to start with one minute & as they gain strength & confidence to build up. I would like to say that it is said that we do things for three minutes because that is how long it takes for a blood cell to leave your heart & traverse thru out your whole body & back again, so in other words it takes 3 minutes for us to integrate what it is we are doing deep within ourselves...it is recommended to start slow & build yourself up, so with that said you know your level of where you are, gently challenge yourself & at the same time know your own limitations (: You asked about time to rest, it is recommended that however long you practice Sat Kriya that you should relax for that same amount of time... "Sodarshan" is your breathwork (: & then "Kirtan Kriya" is your mantra, looks like a complete set....smiles (: Enjoy! with many blessings, Jiwan Shakti Tampa, FL Discover Get on-the-go sports scores, stock quotes, news and more.
