While it is easy to understand how the Kundalini practice elevates our

vibrations during the actual practice itself, what techniques or ideas

do you use throughout the day to stay in a positive state of mind,

avoid negativity, and stay connected to the feelings generated during

the morning sets and meditation?

Does the morning practice carry us through our day? Do we simply try

to stay mindful of our thoughts throughout the day? Or is there a

technique or plan to keep the momentum while we are going about our

daily tasks?

Thanks;

Jeff

Jeff, I'm a newbie too, and appreciate your question. Welcome to learning and

healing.

P.S. I'm a legal secretary in Phoenix, Arizona and am thrilled to see a young

attorney "on board", searching for enlightenment and growth. Such an adventure!

I find chanting silently during the day helps keep my energy up and away

from negativity. Har, Har, Har or I just make them up. Elaine

Jeff welcome.

You pose good questions. I have found listening to mantra

or other inspirational music helps. I often find myself chanting at

work where my greatest test of neutral mind and living from the heart seem

to stem. Also something as simple as remembering to breathe, long deep breathing

and at times a few minutes of breath of fire can remind me of my connection

to my higher power. Taking a few minutes to pray or meditate during the course

of the day can become a matter of habit.

Sat Nam,

Just to add to what has already been expressed on this topic...

When you have a particular experience of consciousness during

meditation....first be aware that you are having it (witness it)......then

afterwards, while the experience is still fresh, set an intention to experience

it throughout your day.

For instance if somebody struggles with anger throughout their day...then their

intention could be something like....

"I skillfully transform the energy of anger, back to it's original love nature,

throughout my day".

Remember, intention makes the world go round...what you intend will happen. But

just be aware that with each intetion that you set, you will be shown or

experience, what ever it is, that functions as an obstacle in your

consciousness, towards you recieving what it is that you are asking for.

So if somebody is trying to dissolve anger in their life....they will experience

much anger, more than likely...in the process of learning how to transform it.

Realize that under all of the emotional tension of anger (or any emotional

tension)...is where wisdom lies. So as humans we access wisdom through the

processing of emotional tension.

Until of course you are at such a state where you are able to process emotion on

the spot(rather than packing it away for a later date to deal with)..... then

you live in a state of constant connection with wisdom, by being masterful at

the process of transforming emotional tension.

And throughout your day, when you are hit with more than you feel you are

capable of being nuetral with and simply witnessing.....remember to call for

help! Guru Ram Das is a wonderful 9-1-1 (chant the Guru Ram Das mantra in your

head if you have to...)

.....or simply say, "God, or universe, great spirit (whatever name you relate to)

take this negativity from me...I feel helpless and unskilful in this moment, but

my intention is to respond with wisdom, rather than from my tension....so take

this negativity from me and return it to me as feelings, thoughts and images...

of positivity and love." And take a moment to envision what it is that you would

like to be experiencing instead.

This technique, is part of a process using prayer /intention, that my teacher

Seva Simran, has taught to me over the last three years...through different

classes and workshops that I have taken with him and it is extremely effective

in constantly transforming and refining your consciousness throughout your day.

I hope that is helpful.
