Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone, I have been becoming familiar with Kundalini Yoga by reading the online classes. And though I have not been very disciplined and regular, I feel encouraged by reading the messages here. I have only begun to meditate within the past 90 days. I have had some serious issues with my thyroid, and my adrenals, for over 10 years; getting progressively worse. It often manifested as depression and many times felt like I was experiencing PMS 24/7(plus anxiety). I avoided traditional western medicine because I thought that I would be prescribed anti-depressants. Fortunately, last fall I was able to find an alternative doctor who was the one to finally properly diagnose me; and with proper medicine, herbs and diet, I once again have energy and motivation. It is actually like looking into a box when I remember how I was. Then, I could only "see" myself "doing" things I wanted. Now I can actually manifest my ideas into action. Hallelujah! At this time I live in a small community and have no access to local Kundalini Yoga. Please refer me to any sites that might help me find a "master", or teacher, in the Fayetteville, Arkansas area. Thanks to everyone who leaves wise and supportive messages here. Peace to all, Jeanine (Fayetteville, AR)
Guest guest
Sat Nam Jeanine, I taught KY in Little Rock from 1998 to 2000, and I was the only teacher at that time in the state of Arkansas, until Kathy Friday received her certification, but she wasn't teaching classes at the time. Visit www.kundaliniyoga.com and click on Arkansas to find teachers in your area. The last time I checked, Kathy is the only teacher in Arkansas. However, some KY teachers are not members of IKYTA, therefore they won't be listed on that website. If there are no KY teachers in your area, consider going to a teacher training course and teach it--create your own community. Yogi Bhajan said that if you want to learn something, teach it. When I lived in Little Rock there were no KY classes in the entire state, so I went to Master's Touch after experiencing a one-time class offered by a guest KY teacher, and I knew it was my path. immediately upon returning from the Master's Touch in New Mexico, I starting teaching at a Hatha studio in Little Rock. Not only did I experience and learn more about KY by teaching it, but I was able to share this wonderful technology with other people---very, very fulfilling. As a result, there was a nice, but small, KY community in Little Rock. Now, I live on one of the San Juan Islands, north of Seattle. Many blessings to you and to Arkansas, Nirmal Kaur/Pam Anacortes, WA - Drianke Kundaliniyoga Thursday, June 30, 2005 5:15 PM Kundalini Yoga looking for classes in the ozarks Sat Nam everyone, I have been becoming familiar with Kundalini Yoga by reading the online classes. Guest guest
Sat Nam, In addition to my previous response here: I am sure that one of us up here in KC could travel to Fayetteville (Nice town, I spent a summer there on an NEH scholarship back in '93.) for a day long KY intensive. We'd need 8 or 10 people to make it worth the trip. Let us know. Guest guest
Hi, I have only just read this email. I am the only one in this area (that I know of) that is interested in KY. Thanks, Jeanine Karta Purkh S Khalsa <kpsk_teacher wrote: Sat Nam, In addition to my previous response here: I am sure that one of us up here in KC could travel to Fayetteville (Nice town, I spent a summer there on an NEH scholarship back in '93.) for a day long KY intensive.
