Guest guest
Hi, Three questions reg Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, (1) Is it okay if I do this kriya two times a day and totally make it upto 11 minutes per day. Say I do 6 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening. Will this approach cause any loss of benefits of this kriya. (2) Sometimes I find it very difficult, after 5 minites, to complete 48 pumps. I am forced to stop after 15 odd pumps. So is it okay if I can reduce the number of pumps after some time. (3) To end the kriya, we need to shake all parts of the body. Will this mean that we need to stand and shake all the body or is it okay to shake within the sitting pose. Thanks
Guest guest
Sat Nam! What is your name? Where are you from? If you have a hard time doing 48 pumps beyond 5 minutes, then please don't force yourself to go beyond. It is better to do it the way it is described and relax into it until your body is ready to increase the time. This meditation is a powerful way to unburden the unconscious so go easy! There may be a reason your body can't keep up the pumping after a certain time. Listen to what happens in your body as you do the meditation. Feel your sensations everywhere. Work on opening your system to let the energy flow freely within you. Allow the yoga to work through and for you. Yes practice it a couple of times a day. You will benefit more this way than trying to do 11 minutes all at once given that pumping is difficult for you beyoned 5 minutes. Shake your body while staying seated, arms streched up, shake so your buttocks come off the floor. However you are the best judge of your capabilities. Pushing yourself even a little bit though will reap tremendous rewards. > > (2) Sometimes I find it very difficult, after 5 minites, to complete > 48 pumps. I am forced to stop after 15 odd pumps. If the stomach has even a little water in it, it could hinder your practice. 48 Pumps is the goal, don't consciously reduce the number to fit your comfort zone. That said, don't wait til your head explodes before exhaling. The idea is to do it comfortably to a place where you are being stretched or challenged. Exhale when you have to, but don't "plan" om exhaling at 36 pumps. One of the ways I found to expand my capacity was (is) to make the inhale and the exhale as long and as drawn out as possible. Do them slowly and with real awareness. On the inhale for example I pretend that I am "blowing up" my hand like a balloon. It keeps me aware or conscious of the breath. On the exhale I simply drawm my navel point in until I imagine it pushing up against my spine. > > (3) To end the kriya, we need to shake all parts of the body. If you do it vigorously enogh in easy pose you will feel the legs moving. Be sure you do it for at least a minute. As Yogi Bhajan always said, "Shake, shake, shake! Shake now so you won't shake later in life!" Sorry to go on so long but I really love So Darshan and try to make it a part of my daily sadhana. Good luck and God bless you. Don't change the number of pumps. Take a deeper breath and do shallower pumps. Also, make sure to TUNE IN and do some kind of warmups beforehand. > > (3) To end the kriya, we need to shake all parts of the body. Shake within the sitting posture and you may end with "One minute Breath" for up to 11 minutes afterward (20 secs inhale, 20 secs suspend, 20 secs exhale). One minute Breath integrates everything and one should consider following any yoga practice with it. > > Thanks > > >
Guest guest
Sat Nam Look, my experience about this kriya is this: 1) More times in a day, deepper will be the effects. 2) 48 pums are very agressive for begginners, choose 16 and increase after a lot of practice 3) Sitting pose is really enough to this kriya Greetings Har Simran Singh On 7/6/05, vv1k <vv1k wrote: > Hi, > > Three questions reg Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, > > (1) Is it okay if I do this kriya two times a day and totally make it > upto 11 minutes per day. Guest guest
Changing the number of pumps or any aspect of the teachings is never appropriate. Take a rest if necessary. Don't forget the emotional aspect if difficulty arises. Embrace any pains from the heart center and transform it permanently.
