Dear all,

i am Marco from Switzerland and i do KY for 2 years now.

I am doing a pranayam with the left nostril only (ideally with 1 breath/minute:

15 sec. inhale, 15 sec.hold in, 15sec. exale and 15 sec. hold out).

Currently i am at 14.5 seconds in, hold in, exale, hold out for 20-31 minutes

daily.

Lastly i feel numbness in my hands, arms and tingling in the fingers (especially

the medium left) when i read a book sitting in a couch for example. Last

night at 3:33 for the first time i have felt a light numbness in all my body.

what do you think about?

Thank you

Marco

>From a physical point of view, tingling and numbness are a symptom of neural

compression usually.

Often people who have tight pectoral muscles or tight neck muscles will

experience tingling or altered sensation in their arms or fingers...because the

neck or pec muscles are clamping down on the nerves as they pass underneath the

muscle, thus causing a compression of the nerve, producing altered sensations.

If it turns into numbness, then it is considered more serious because with a

little compression you experience tingling and with a greater compression comes

numbness.

When one experiences systemic numbness then it often points towards some type of

condition that affects the entire nervous system such as MS.

But with that said, everybody's idea of numbness is different, so we could very

well be talking about two different kinds of sensations, but using the same word

for it. If you are concerned seek medical advice.

But you can talk to a physiotherapist or massage therapist if it continues to

rule out neural compression by a muscle.
