Guest guest
sat nam everybody. i had such a funny dream! i recently restarted doing the "wake up exercises" (1 min each of stretch pose, nose to knees pose, rolling along the spine, and ego buster) - you know: the ones you can do before you get out of bed. i had not been doing much of any kind of yoga at all for some time. on the night before the fourth morning, i dreamed that i was in a room with others, all doing stretch pose. the only person i remember actually seeing was a man dressed with head turban and flowing clothing; he had a brown beard. we all did stretch pose together! when i woke i thought, the guru came to keep me up! i better keep up! i haven't missed a day since! wahe guru! isn't that funny? xxxoo, sue in seattle
Guest guest
Wonderful Sue! It reminds me of a dream I had the first night before the start of my teacher training. Everyone had woken up before me in my dream and they were all running over a hill and I was still asleep (in the dream). I woke up (for real) and I had a decision to make: Would I be left behind and sleep, or would I get up for Sadhana? My decision was quick, I felt an incredible energy to not be left behind! Awtar S. Guest guest
Dear Sue, I have had a very similar experience during a time when I hadn't been doing yoga for a while. In one dream I was on either a dock or a boat and acually woke myself up tuning in. Another time I had been in the process of deciding which meditaion to start and I started doing Gan Pattee in my sleep, chanting the mantra and even doing the finger movements. So that was the meditation I chose to do for 40 days. I guess sometimes we just need our subconcious to give us a jump start! Guest guest
sat nam everybody, what do you all think dreams are? is it a message from our subconscious, or a visit from another being, or - as my ex-husband would call them sometimes - just 'dog dreams' (i.e., meaningless)? sue in seattle
Guest guest
Good question Sue! If dreams motivate me to do something at a particular time in my life, or if they inspire me... they can't be meaningless. I think if we ask ourselves questions about our life, why is this happening or how could I do this better... we get answers in our dreams or by meeting people who give us answers or parts of answers. Dreams are great because they give access to a world that may not be accessible otherwise. Example: I dreamt once of a jazz musician playing beautifully on a piano. I loved his tune. When I woke up I was in awe and I could have whistled the tune. The magic of it was he was playing on notes that were made of fruit. I just felt this dream was an experience of food for the soul. The evening before my girlfriend had tried to get me to stay with her by playing a game I was learning to see through in order to keep me with her. I did not want to play that game anymore. I kindly said: "I am going out, you can join me!" In a way this dream felt like someone wiser than I letting me know I was on the right track. Another time I was a cross road in my life not knowing whether to complete my PhD or quit. I had a dream that was quite explicit in which I passed by the door of my therapist, went to another floor where fellow students in my program were celebrating, but I climbed a rope ladder another 1/2 a floor to be greeted by men and women in business suits. It is only 13-15 years after that dream that I have entered the business world! So I think dreams are just an extension of reality, something to play with like we can play with reality, to get coincidences to happen that answer our most important questions, if not all... And sometimes they are just reminding us of feelings we did not pay attention to during the day. But I do think people over analyze dreams sometimes. I think dreams are meant to be experienced and felt... and that's where the meaning is. Awtar S. Rochester, NY
Guest guest
Hi Chrism, I wish you some abundance, I too have been facing financial difficulties, I am trusting the universe and it feels great. I always know that everything will be provided somehow and that I am growing in special ways through the experience. Thankyou once again for all you do here. I dreamt last night that I was observing a young woman , who looked just like me, sitting down on the grass. Some other being was there but not distinguishable. I watched an energy snake entering through her left toe and it moved up her leg and I noticed that her toe was black. Funny, I thought, that looked like kundalini being activated. Then I had an image of myself looking at my knees, they looked funny, ugly almost. I thought to myself, what ugly knees. Then I woke up. Quite a funny dream really, I enjoyed it immensly. Thanks again Chrism, love Elektra x x x To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Security Centre.
